Nice work!!! Looks way better, and I'm sure it will cycle much better too.

That vinegar took off the black coating that comes with it on?

I know it looks good, but your basically making it unprotected steel. The Wingmaster bolts are hard chromed. If you really have to do this, i'd send it out to be chrome plated as those bolts are rare as hens teeth. Saying to "just keep it oiled" would be a double-edged sword.

I did this and let sit for 4-5 hours in between. The black came off fairly easy but there are rust/black spots on all of the pieces.

Dry them, remove rust and then cover in oil.

Have you ever tried polishing a a whole receiver and magazine tube like that? I know it would be extremely time consuming but I was just wondering if the metal would turn out like the bolt would? I've done a lot of research but can't seem to find anything.

Now when you polish a bolt like that will it rust?
@veloh
Жыл бұрын
YES, but keeping it in light film of oil after each extensive use will prevent that

2020 shit still sticks. my bolt is parkered and stiff as a geezers knees. hate to rip into it too much but its a bear to rack it quietly
