Want to make a cable for YOUR camera? Here is a great DIY resource for the information you need: www.doc-diy.net/photo/remote_pinout/ Thanks KZitem for keeping this video stuck at 360p resolution...

Im about a year late lol but, the Resinlapse cable does work all you have to do is go to settings and turn ( Video Button/Off ) under the Operation menu on the gh5 and it will work (:

Great video; with everything explained well! We have a similar cable with a micro switch for our GH5 for FDM timelapse and would need to roll our own if we do resin timelapses. Although resin isn’t filament…

Resin isn’t filament? 🤔 “Resin Stories” doesn’t hit the same / feels like a bad docu-series about some seedy stuff.

would love to see an FDM mod for the GH5! Great work btw, I was so disappointed when I brought a Resinlapse cable and it didn't work on my GH5. No I have an easy fix.

Great video, love the idea. But, does it work with a phone maybe?

Excelent video! One question, if you lower the resistor to a 20K or 10K will it need less light to be activated?
@MandicReally

The camera’s trigger circuit is intended to have that specific resistance. I forget exactly what I found while testing but I know I found sticking to the recommended range was the thing to do.

I’ve made one last week using your guidelines. Unfortunately I can’t get it to work properly because with a 22k resistor it’s too sensitive and each time the printer exposes it takes like 10 photos and with a 30k resistor it’s not sensitive enough and no photo is taken. Amazing guide tho, wish mine had worked better.

Would love to see if a cable can be made to use with an iPhone or iPad

What is the resistor for??
@MandicReally

The trigger circuit is spec'd to have that resistance on it when not triggered. It MAY be ok without the resistor, but some cameras may falsely trigger without it in place.

@MandicReally I've made up the wire for my Nikon, however the UV light doesn't trigger it but the room light does, am I missing something, or is the resistor to aid this?

@@A.I.E_Designs Looking at the web page I linked to, the Nikon cables don't seem to need anything special. Or at least they don't call out any need. I wouldn't mess with adding resistors to a different camera systems design. Are you sure you have the Photoresistor in a good path to sense the light inside the printer?

@@MandicReally I will have to check the path again, maybe I need to push it further in, I have a Mars 3 pro

@@MandicReallyYou said the 47k Ohm resistor from the resistor kit you linked to works for this? I already have the same kit.

this whole thing cost less than 2 dollar in INDIA. How is the resin lapse cable better at 20 $
@MandicReally
Жыл бұрын
I can’t speak for India, but here in the US I had to buy $20 worth of parts to make it. Sure the cable I made only cost $2 or so, but I’m left with $18 worth of parts I don’t need. ResinLapse cable is made, ready to run, a bit cleaner finished product, and no hassle. Just buy it and use it. Not everyone trusts themselves to not damage their camera making something.
