That was a good example for building a shunt. I am going to build one myself. Thanks for the info. Keep up the good work!

I love the "rule of three". It reminded me of 4th grade math. Thanks for the explanation. Blessings

Nice video, it would also be nice to see how to measure the very low resistance of conductors using a 4 wire Kelvin connection, or a method other than what you described at the end of this video

I think your shunt is correct and your power supply is correct. I think the small difference is the wire leads you are using.

Awesome, can you make a 75mV 100A shunt, because that is common and hard to find in stores, thanks

I used this method quite often. 100A Clamp on meters cost way more then I want to pay.

Thanks, I guess if we make the shunt wire 10x longer (10 ft. and adjust our formula; 10milli-ohms) we'd reduce our margin of error on where exactly we connect our multimeter leads on the shunt when measuring milli-volts.
@tech29X

We would probably measure 13mV. if we used 10 Ft. 10AWG wire as a shunt for the same 1.3amp load. This would probably reduce margin of errors as I mentioned above along with the marginf of errors in the test meter.

always make sure you don't get requentie/impedance change when de wire starts acting like a coil. You can eliminate this by bending it halfway to make a U-turn to the startingpoint. If wires are parallel to eachother, no freq/impedance -side-effects will happen.

What will happen if high resistance is applied
@jantje2280

high resistance in shunt? Than that resistance value will determine the max Amps that can be pulled through the wires (Imax=Voltage over shunt/Resistance Shunt). That's why we use a low resistance Shunt.

I like all your videos. but we use Shunt resistor to measure high current and it is a little bit dangerous for beginners
