If you do decide to sell them, you could also ship them as a kit. You could include a small tube of aquarium silicone and some round vents.

Ever since I started watching these videos I stopped being so disgusted by (bigger) insects. I saw a giant beetle outside and thought "whoa, awesome" and stooped to get a closer look. I saw a giant spider making a web outside of my window and leaned in real close and snapped some pictures rather than freaking out and closing the shade. I really appreciate the humor in the feeding videos and how much Petko puts into everything, it's just rad. So thanks, and keep it up (^:

its 'cause that type of mantis is more meant to eat bugs that fly. if he had some blue bottle flies it'd be better to watch :D I also have about 100 L2 Phyllocrania paradoxa that hatched from there ooth the 1st being on Nov, 26 and I still have 5 more ooths to hatch :D but sadly idk if my Idolomantis diabolica ooths are viable :/ fingers crossed though

I think I'd recommend placing the ventilation holes a little higher on the sides. Otherwise, you're putting a fairly hard limit to how much substrate you can put in. Higher ventilation holes means more user control over the amount of possible substrate.

Not a bad idea, although the mantis will eventually need more height. The recommended standard is 2x the width and 3x the height of the mantis' body. Why 3x? It needs to hang from the very top to molt (1), it needs space to crawl down and out from it's old skin (2) and it needs space to spread out it's legs (3). Without enough height it may end up touching the sides or the substrate and its exoskeleton will harden in the wrong position, leaving the mantis malformed.

u should give more space for mantis , she need more space to molt, some about 2 times of her full lenght talking about free space in vertical, the best way will be change twig for another - better one, u have lot time couse she just molt, but pls remember about that ! :D
@curly_luke

It's best to keep 3 times the height of the mantis otherwise it'll scrape its face against the dirt during the molt 😂

Actually for most genuine veteran mantis enthusiasts like myself an enclosure that is at least 36 times the length of the abdomen is ideal for a mantis but sure filthy amateurs can do whatever they want. J/k, definitely give it enough space, I had a mantis molted in a relatively tight space and it's wings were deformed. Luckily only the wings were affected so it could still eat and move around. Sadly no flying.

I would love this type of enclosure. I don't know where to get glass cut though. Like someone else suggested, I'd definitely purchase the precut materials and assemble it myself. That would probably also decrease the odds of it breaking in transit. I'm wondering how well this could transfer to a model made of acrylic instead because I could probably cut that myself.

Hi, Petko. I really enjoyed watching you make these enclosures. Yes! If you're making any to sell, same size, like the ones that you've just done in your video, then I'm definitely interested in buying them from you. I live in the UK. My name is Denice Jensen. I would definitely be interested in purchasing your enclosures as you cannot get them anywhere else, especially NOT in the UK. Another great way to get perfect holes in plastic is to use a soldering iron, it will make a hole about the diameter of a #2 pencil. Melts right into the plastic and doesn't leave any sharp edges like a drill can. Just be sure to do it outside in a well ventilated area. I used to do this method for my reptile racks and it works great-- cheap too.

@bloodyanarchyonline

I like the concept of the stacking enclosures, but I think it would be ideal to have a small door on one side of the enclosure where there's not a vent - a door that would fold down and allow easy feeding without unstacking them all.. Only problem would be that it wouldn't look as good from the front, but you could turn it around so the feeding door is facing the wall or something when you're not using it..
