Good to see you back, Tim. That's a clever solution! Shows just how easy it can be to make simple hacks to everyday devices. You could also wire another momentary switch in parallel to the relay, and have a physical button by the entry door, so you don't always have to pull out your phone to open/close the garage door. Also, you could use an app like Tasker on your phone (looks like you have an Android) to automate it further, like having the garage door open automatically when you pull up to your house. Regardless, awesome project.

Thank you so much! I thought about exactly that and setting it up with a momentary button as well, but so far, most the times I wish I could open the door easier have been from outside the house. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the feedback and ideas! And for watching :)

I had my main remote go bad but the opener is still hanging in there. The terminals 1 and 3 located by the power cord can be used for a doorbell type switch and/or the inching relay you have although it may have to set for more than 1 second. I may have to try your remote set up. I really like the opener and wish they were still made. Thanks

Can you fix the inching link in the description? Or mention the model number. Thanks, & great idea!

This is the worst designed garage door opener on the market. If you have one I feel sorry for you. The team that designed it should never have a job again. Biggest piece of crud, my dog could do a better engineering design. No really .
