This is one of the better DIY options I have seen especially if you already own lever arms. Seems like an easy build with lots upside

Would leg press would work better if bands were added to both sides for stability?

I like it! Could this cause instability in the rack at higher weights especially at the bottom of the squat?

Where did you find the bar catches that fit the 3” x 3” jammer arms for the hack squat setup? All I can find similar to yours are by Body Solid but those are for 2” x 2” racks.

Can I use rubber mat?

UMHW or some other type of hard plastic. Rubber would have too much friction.

Kyle, In one of the hack squat movements in the video I see you rounding your back somewhat. How does it feel on your back doing hack squats against the rack with a heavy load? My big reason for doing hack squats is to protect my back and put more emphasis on my quads. Thanks for exploring these low cost home gym solutions. I just don't have room for a hack squat machine in my small gym.
@KaizenDIYGym

That’s the one thing about this vs a dedicated hack squat machine. There is no back support on this one.

Great job as usual! But the holy grail is integrating a full DIY smith machine into a rack, that would be pretty awesome (just pitching ideas here).

Love your videos/channel. I was close to making your seal row pad. But my table saw is buried also. So I just went with reps utility pad and love it. The removable pad is really nice

Yeah? I actually had to choose between either keeping the nemesis bar or the Kadillac bar, and I sold the Kadillac bar. I like how the nemesis bar is lightweight, makes it more versatile
