How to smoke or tint your taillights yourself for less then 10 dollars! Make them look dark. If you do it correctly, your tail lights will look dark and reflective. The outcome can look as good as if it was OEM.
Materials:
1 x Black Spray paint (Enamel for a shine finish)
2 x Sheets of 1000 grit sand paper. Wet or Dry. We will use it for wet sanding
1 x Sponge to clean tail light
1 x Bucket to be dipping the sand paper
Steps:
1) Clean the Tail Light to prepare the surface
2) Wet sand with the 1000 grit sandpaper in one direction
3) Spray the light evenly with the black paint.
4) Spray the clear coat
5) Polish
6) Wax
ProTip: Do not touch the tail light with your fingers once you have sanded. The paint will not grab to the parts that your finger might touch.
There is headlight/taillight tint film available now. You can search for it on eBay. Ill try and buy some soon and make an install video of it, but for now you can use paint :). You can remove it by sanding it anyways, I don't know about the film though.
(WARNING) The lights look fairly close to original at night but during the day, the brake lights will be significantly harder to see when painted with a second coat. Be mindful when tinting the tail lights.
(2nd WARNING) This is illegal in many states. Check your state law.
Sorry... I said headlights a few times at the beginning. I CLEARLY (no pun intended) MEANT HEADLIGHT
