Awesome job Andrew. I wish I knew you having trouble to trim, because I used to have the same trouble with trim. A trick that I learned that I use is an angle finder on your two top rail pieces the one that goes towards the wall to the first stair platform and then you put it on the saw and you cut those pieces at the same time with the saw and then they match up perfectly and when you come around the corner you do the same thing using angle finder and cut the pieces at the same time on the saw. They'll match up perfectly. And on the handrail going down the stairs cuz it's longer you'll have to worry about a precise cut, you use an angle finder again to get the angle from the top rail down the the side rail going downstairs and yet to have some kind of platform where you hold that angle to the chop saw and you cut those two pieces at the same time right where they join (on on their side of course or standing up however you want to look at it) together and they'll match up perfectly. In other words you're cutting two pieces where they join together at the same time. I hope that helps. You have the most beautiful do-it-yourself stairs I've ever seen, fantastic job.

You've made me type "awesome" so many times, I'm starting to search for a new word to describe your work, projects, and ideas Andrew. My dad used to make our family laugh with his use of the word "fantastic"... I can't remember how or when this started (a scene in an old movie perhaps) but whenever he saw something really impressive; "Oh my... that's FANtastic" would be something he would say. For 2023, I'm going to pay a little tribute to my dad Owen by using his word when commenting on your videos... "FANTASTIC!" 😊 Thank you for all the content, entertainment, and ideas. Have a Fantastic 2023, Kelleys!

Rout or use your table saw to cut a channel the width of the metal top piece about 1/8 or 3/16 deep that will help hide the waves in the metal and deal with twists and warps in the wood.

Andrew I work for Graco Spray Equipment. We make a Fine Finish Low Pressure tip (FFLP). These will allow you to turn your pressure down on your sprayer thus eliminating ALOT of the overspray that I'm seeing and the runs that you're experiencing. These will NOT require you to slow down your process. Plus, by being able to turn the pressure down, it will make your pump last longer because it's not having to work as hard. If you'll go by your local Sherwin-Williams store, they should have these in stock.
@TKCL

Awesome and these will work with the entry homeowner model sprayer I have? Thanks!

What you have is our DIY sprayer. They will work but not to the extent that they do on our contractor line of sprayers ( that's the division I work in). Our contractor line starts with the 390 and up from there. I'd be happy to send you one at NC. Email me where I can send it to you so that you can try. The tips that you are currently using have about a 60 gallon life span before they wear out. Since our FFLP tips allow you to run at lower pressures, they will average about 140 gallons before they wear out.

Where the angled handrail meets the flat top handrail, could you not use wooden dowels (2-3) to make a glue tight joint? Just a thought to help with any twisting of handrails.
