Thanks for your videos Paw Paw. I always learn something when I watch them. I went to Comgrow's looking for the air assist present in your video but couldn't find the same one that's in your video. Where did you get yours from?

Create a 90 degree fence with two pieces of material. Cut two pieces for the auxiliary fence that will slide from the center out. Put two holes in the sliding fence and matching slots in the fixed portion. To provide stability put a long thin support fixed to the fence above the auxiliary sliding fence. You can put a t track in this area if you wish.

Good evening We started making these covers, but every time we stain them they warp. Any advice?
@PawPawsWorkShop

You must stain both sides. Also your wood may have a high moisture content

It looks like your engrave is black. I did one today with the same dye and my engrave is grey looking. How do I get it black
@PawPawsWorkShop
Жыл бұрын
Slow down you feed rate and increase the power. The black comes from the burn. It’s actually the ash remaining

to get those labels off real easy soak them in lighter fluid. they will peel right off. if they act wild...put some fluid under it as your pulling it off also but you usually don't need too.

How do you fix the areas of engraving that are not as dark as the rest, I come across this at times? Thanks
@PawPawsWorkShop
Жыл бұрын
That usually occurs when you are engraving material that has different density. Hard and soft wood engraves differently. Bamboo is an example. You will most likely just need to engrave darker. If your project board is not completely flat will cause the same thing

Really, I would say that this is the first time to my channel and I welcome you. My channel is all about getting people involved in woodworking. Many of my subscribers are new to woodworking and have limited tools. I like to show people how to be successful with limited experience and tools. Other projects are much more complicated. I also like to show multiple ways to to make for example, cabinets, drawers, and many other projects. Again, welcome to my channel

I apologize. I put a lot of working to buy things I use reclaim wood I cleaned it up playing it down squared-off. Is there a see people find ready-made wood and everything through it together or try to get $69 for it I understand.. I put a lot more work in mine don't think I could double my price. I put my wood together with biscuits.

It is a nice project however I do have concerns over placing wood over top of a burner wether it be electric or gas! I am just not comfortable with that concept!
@PawPawsWorkShop

I agree with that. I personally would never do it. I’m not sure why this is so popular. This was a gift that the person specifically wanted. You’ll never see one in my house
@jaykeehan5813

Yeah, a neighbor has asked me to make one. I probably will, but I know from time to time I forget to turn a burner completely off and that would be potentially disastrous with a cover placed upon it. Obviously the reason for these covers is to create additional countertop space during the serving part of a meal. Maybe it’s something that should be used occasionally on an “as needed” basis such as a party or large gathering? Otherwise I don’t really get it.
