I found a Panasonic Fuzzy Logic rice cooker at Wal-Mart on the sale shelf once, and it is the absolute best! Any kind of rice you do, you just fill with water or stock one finger widths above the dry rice and it makes perfect rice every time!

I make sushi for a living, so as another small tip for keeping the rice from sticking, you can put on food safe gloves and put spicy mayo on your hands. It's super easy to make! It's just 4 parts mayo and one part Siracha. It's super yummy on the sushi!!!

Mandolins are amazing if you like coleslaw or anything that requires shaved veggies. I got mine from Marshall's for about $20 and I've been using it at least once a week for the past five years. Take care of that blade and it'll take care of you. (until you glance at your Spotify to see a song name and lose the epidermis from your index and middle finger and never make that mistake again.) I even use my mandolin to shave crock pot corned beef into paper thin reuben sandwich meat. It usually crumbles into fatty meat dust, but I like the melt in your mouth texture, and the swiss cheese permeates the meat into a gooey mass that tastes like heaven.

I'd love to see you try making Mince Pies from scratch- they're a typically British festive pastry that consist of candied and preserved fruits such as sultanas, currants, apple, citrus peels as well as lots of christmas-y spices. They are very rich and decadant and for me they summarise the festive period perfectly!

I have had two epic blunders. One was the first time I ever made my husband baked beans. I know he liked a little bit of spice so I decided to add Seracha, but considering I don't like spicy food I didn't know how spicy it actually was. So I added almost a full 1/2cup of Seracha into one can of bake beans. My husband did try them but could not eat them as they where way to spicy. My second mistake was one in which I have been dubbed the queen of "Colesalad." I was trying a new coleslaw recipe, but in my hurry to get it made I want to the store searching for shredded cabbage. Thinking I was the queen of all and found shredded cabbage, got my package home and began to work on my coleslaw. well I finished the coleslaw thinking I had followed recipe. When I gave it to my husband he noticed how wet it was and somewhat soggy, as did I. I began to think what did I do wrong? Then I went back over everything and to our surprise/funniness I did not grab shredded cabbage. I had grabed shredded lettuce, hence the name "Colesalad" but moments like this make life grand to me.

0:44 That's Halo-halo! I think haha (literally translates to mix-mix) It's a delicious Filipino dessert. Most recipes online are pretty accurate but I would highly recommend putting rice crispies on top, gives it a good crunch. And don't skip the flan and ube jam. I don't know what ube is in English but it's a slightly sweet violet tuber that's turned into a delicious jam, it's what gives it the purple tinge when you mix the dessert. I usually have a small taste of each component before mixing it. Hope you make it Emmy! I really enjoy watching you videos. Thank you for making them.
