The camper at the end of this with the birch wood on the slide out and the TVs and the vacuum is totally totally outrageous it is better than anything I’ve ever seen on any small trailer he should really have that design and sell it to people that make campers that bathroom is beautiful

I'm a motocamper (Harley/ trailer), and I'm planning a foamie too! A goldwing is perfect, and,able to pull the heavies, like Timeouts or Rollahomes. I want foam for the lightness, as I'm more of a performance rider, and she's a modified torque monster, but still just 2 cylinders. I'm collecting ideas from these sites and plan to build (totally budgeted) over my Harder Fate 4x4 trailer I use now with a cartopper. I'm thinking NO plywood, but a light frame covered with the 1-1/2" foam, and a bit of a low roof tear, with 2 side doors and a rear galley hatch. A bucket for a sink with drain hose, second bucket rides inside for waste removal, a manual pump. I've built and used Penny stoves and alcohol, so we're used to those and an old foldable stove rack to cook on. Our 4 man, 4 season tent will still deploy next to the tear, a vestibule tarp connecting to hold gear, and it'll serve as a covered porch. I liked the guy with the galley hatch with canvas sides for protection; not sure I'll want more, like an overhead, but that's 550 cord and tarp easy. I've set up and taken down tents in the rain, but to just open a door and hop my 68yr old butt in? FABULOUS! One thing I'll keep ready is an inside door to the galley and some kind of reachable munchies. No use starving in a storm! Loud lights save lives! My.hawg has 17 lights plus blue LED's under the tank to light up all the chrome, like a Chinese circus. I expect I'll make the wagon visible as well, melting channels with a woodburner for wires, covered with lightweight wallboard mud and the fibreglass. God Bless LED's! Hope I gave something back, love your content too brah!

Definitely hold off for the 1,720lb trailer! Also, you’ll want to put larger wheels/tires on it. Another option would be to acquire an old pop up camper for a couple hundred bucks and take it down to the frame, then cut away the extra width. You’ll also have a bunch of parts to use!

@CampandCamera
3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a fun project is on the horizon! You can build a basic teardrop affordably. I’d look around and try to find an old beat up pop-up camper that someone is willing to let go of to pull the frame from. With a little work, pop-up frames make great teardrop frames. For the box, just use 3/4” plywood and cover it with “Poor mans fiberglass.” Google that term. You don’t really need a bunch of fancy electrical stuff in it, so a basic 12v marine battery and a couple 12v outlets could get you by. I would still recommend buying either a fantastic fan or Maxxfan for the roof. It’s an essential item in warm weather. Lastly, be sure to join the “DIY Teardrop Campers Community” Facebook group. Lots of help there. Good luck!!
