This EV Roadster was a pure success! I was there with you on the whole journey, so I saw the many trials and errors, but you worked through all of the challenges, and it came out great! I always liked the exotic styling of this kit car. And I love the color as well. They really nailed the supercar design elements, even if it was focused to be a weekend show car rather than some daily commuter. The EV motor helps in this regard, because you get the simplicity, reliablilty, economy, and real performance too. It would have been a vastly different car with a LS V8, or turbo 4 (getting performance, but at a cost), or with some base Civic engine (making it all show, no go). The seats do look uncomfortable. Made for sub-5 minute racing duty. If it were possible, I would swap those out. If only to enjoy driving this amazing car even more. Thanks for sharing your ongoing Electric Supercar journey with us!

Something I would be interested in a follow up would be: could you fix some of the issues you have with it (ex. seats) and what would it take for you to adjust or fix them? and also some of the rubbing or contact points. -maybe just the process or how to fix something after-the-fact, I know there's a bunch you can't fix without redesigning like the height issue with the windshield. but things like seats being more comfy, adding headlight covers to protect them. just curious how you'd tackle some of those upgrades.

Great follow-up Jeremy! Any car project has ups and downs, and your kit car with modifications has been a journey. You have done so much and picked up so many new skills doing this it is crazy. For your water issue, might I suggest 2 things. First, though it detracts from the look and lines, a set of mud flaps or rain shields inside the wheel wells would deflect much of the water from the road and the front wheels. Second, could you incorporate a continuous seal around the door and doorframe, probably door mounted? If you look at your other car's door, seeing how the seal there works gives you an idea, and looking at the different gullwing door designs could steer you in the right direction. I am sure you have thought about it before, but I wanted to throw it out there. Seats are important, and I cannot remember if those came with the kit or not. They look like a drag racing seat, and are used for, like you were saying, 20 to 30 minutes of driving at a stretch, at most. Something like a Recaro seat, or similar high performance car seat, may provide more comfort and functionality. I assume, though, that you are just enjoying the build as it is, and not going too far out in retooling it. Still, a great series, and this is an awesome addendum showing your thoughts on it.

Jolly good sir! Now i know this is a small comment, and I know youve sort of moved on to other projects, and have the Porsche as the spiritual successor... But don't be afraid to do a v2, a refurbishment, a way to better improve the car. Get creative!, rethink the doors, consider some instant-gaskets, make a month, and do the trunk! Cut the center console to make it easy, consider adding a cup-holder! Change those seats!!!! This is a car you've already invested so much into, and as such - and as it is custom - it is a unique place to further the experience of making electric cars! Keep at it!, never forget it. Got an issue?, improve it! At any rate, thank you for the update - and best wishes for you and the channel.

This is so utterly impressive. However, as a European, i can't grasp the concept of REGISTERING a road legal car, that you literally welded together yourself that meets no standards or tests or anything. In Denmark you get a $150 fine for having a air freshener in your rear mirror, and your car is completely illegal if you modify literally anything on it like a incorrect non OEM size rim, or change a drum brake to a disc brake. Sometimes im really jealous of how easy car guys have it in the US.

Door gaskets were invented for just what you suffer from. Try adapting some. Fiberglass front fender liners could be fabricated quite easily. It's surely a problem-solver's dream car, and you can probably improve the comfort by tilting the seats back a few degrees (shims/rubber bushings under the front), and adapting a removable steering wheel for ingress/egress. Also some acrylic side curtains might not be hard to devise for your top to work more effectively.
