This appears to be a common problem with Lexus IS and GS models of this vintage (~2006-2013 model years). The screen may not respond to touch either in specific parts of the screen or the entire surface.
You need to get the screen out, and then chip away at the glass where the ribbon cable enters, carefully avoiding cutting deep into the circuit. Shave off a layer of the circuit line so it's a nice shiny gold. Then "draw" the circuit with the pen and let it dry.
Sorry the video doesnt show all of the steps to remove the screen. It was a learning process for me and recording the whole thing while I struggled to get it open would just be boring to watch.
Main goal is to separate the navigation section from the tape deck/CD section. Then fold the bezel open from the navigation. There are 6 screws I believe on both sides of the bezel that also need to be removed.
