I made my first straps yesterday with the guidance of your video. Thank you so much, I now have bark tree straps I made myself!

as a climber I've always used a bartack or tight zigzag stitch on webbing. p.s. I've enjoyed your videos very informative and you sound a lot like my grandma so its soothing to listen to also. lol thanks!

matanuska high is your grandma from Eastern Maryland? There are a few folks who have found each other that have an upper bay accent.

Good stitch job for what you are using it for. Bar tack is far superior for strength though.

Thanks for the video! I am quite sure that the webbing itself would break long before the stitching would do so. Anyhow, there is only have the tension on the stitching than on the webbing itself since you would have to move the webbing twice as far to make the loop longer: e.g. you would have to move the webbing along itself two inches to make the loop one inch longer, so there is only have of the tension on all the stitching than on the webbing. So there is really no need to worry about the stitching at all.

Waldläufer70 interesting. I will admit, I over-worry, especially when sewing dog leashes and collars. The repeated stress of tugging, etc...

There is nothing wrong with good stitching. I tend to think and re-think everything as well before I do it. However, I have heard of torn webbing due to abrasion, but never of good stitching that has failed.

Waldläufer70 I've always used a barrack like on climbing webbing. that way I know it will be at least 22kn strength.

using kevlar or spectra thread of course...probably half that with gutterman mara100 or 70. but that's still 2000+ lbs strength.

What is the model of your Viking Emerald? That is awesome that it has stretch stitch capability.
