This is a great project, but The only thing I would have done differently was, rather than screwing in the bottom where the power cords are, I would have put a hing in place for better accessibility and possibly hidden storage.

You know what makes this a great video? You show the mistakes and challenges that you ran into and then how you overcame them. Thank you for the video!

You've really stepped up the professional look you have in this video. The "where I'm at" feature is unique and really beneficial to the viewer and your in-video advertisement doesn't seem tedious or forceful. Really well done

I think the best way to learning is by making mistakes. That way you know not to make the same mistake again. That's why they say practice makes perfect. But I can honestly say I've never seen a video where someone called out their own mistakes. That tells a lot. Even if he messed up a bunch, his work speaks for itself. Working in the electrical and a/v field, products are constantly changing with the technology and I still learn new things on the job everyday.

You do some the best woodworking videos I've ever seen. You keep it moving at a good pace, and your not afraid to show your mistakes, and more importantly, how you recover from them. You seem to have a good idea of what you're going to do, but you improvise as you build. Reminds me of Adam Savage. I pick up so many great tips and ideas watching you. Thanks!

This is way cool. I’m curious to know the weight capacity of the desk though... if a large adult were to lean heavily on it, would it hold without L-brackets? Also, i would really like to see you do a corner, L-shaped floating desk - if you haven’t already 🙌
@bcatbb2896
5 жыл бұрын
That wouldn't be a good idea as it might cause a tiny bend over time. I've used the brackets he showed in the video and they're definitely only good enough to keep average items in check.

People here saying this isn’t DIY. But a real DIY person is resourceful enough to know this can be done with much cheaper tools and in a pretty small garage or driveway. Shit I built bigger casework in my back yard.

We built the desk but we are stuck on the part how you power the LED strips. We’re mounting the desk underneath our mounted tv and thought that maybe we can plug the led’s into the tv USB port but that wouldn’t give us that same clean look you have. Then we thought about buying a battery powered usb pack and keeping it in the frame of the desk but we weren’t too convinced. Could you please help us out with this part on how you powered the led strip ? The led strips you linked down below were unavailable on Amazon and our led strips are the Nite Bird Smart LED LIGHT STRIP on Amazon. Package includes: Light strip, usb smart controller, 8 pieces of adhesive tape and user manual. We love your channel and will be posting our finished desk when it’s complete to show support.
