What wrench did you use to connect the kobra jet hose to the cox reel?
@marcelahurtado4100
Жыл бұрын
Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use kzitem.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.

Brilliant! Love this set up. Great use of "out of the box" thinking for that plywood option to make it work similar to your own set up. Wish you lived close to me man, i'd have you do an install for me too! I think the rack system is pretty cool too. Gives options on maybe hanging or organizing some detailing products, although me personally, I would rather have all my products out of sight inside the cabinet for a cleaner look. I saw on Pan the Organizer's channel that he had this trick cabinet set up where, when you opened the bottom cabinet, the detailing cart (from the same cabinet company) just rolled out of the cabinet and had all your frequently used detailing products on the cart you could roll around and then when done, push it right back inside the cabinet and close the door! Everything back neat and clean. Love that idea. Really enjoying your videos and ideas. I already got a few new ideas from watching your videos. Just subscribed to your channel also.

What did you do for the bolts on the backside of the plywood against the wall? Just drill our counter sink holes in the sheet rock.
@HawaiiDetailing
3 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s what we did. I prefer the method from my other video of my personal setup where I blocked out the studs behind the drywall to support everything. It’s much cleaner but requires more drywall work. There is also a hose reel mount that can span 16” to catch the studs as long as they are where you want the reel to be. It all depends on the level of construction you are comfortable with. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching.

Did you have to cut out part of the drywall for clearance between the back of the wood and the bolts/nuts protruding out the back? (shown at the 2:12) Trying to figure out how it would sit flush with those sticking out the back. Thanks for your input!!
@HawaiiDetailing
3 жыл бұрын
You can either countersink the bolts into the wood or in this case we notched the drywall as it already was all chopped up to install the plumbing and electrical. The downside to countersinking the wood is there is less structural integrity that way. The ideal install method is how I did my personal setup with blocking behind the drywall. Check out that vid also. thanks for watching.

@@billycallahan3338The reel can be removed and serviced and the bracket would stay on the wall. All parts of the reel can also be serviced while it’s still on the wall. These reels will last a lifetime with very little maintenance though for sure. If for some reason you decide you don’t want it anymore and need to remove the whole reel including the bracket than that’s another story. @HawaiiDetailing
3 жыл бұрын
The general wall mounted pressure washer concept is from OG. I have links to the products I used from his store in the description. Using those links if you decide to build a rig supports his operation and myself as well. I customized the wall mounted concept to use the Karcher pressure washer and my own choice of fixings to make it work for my setup. The vac system was something I decided on when I came across the Vac reel in my late night shopping / research. With little to no info available at the time I took a chance and decided to use this Vac reel with my current vac and am glad I did. Works awesome. Putting it all on the wall in my garage was a no brainer. Another channel I looked at and was inspired by was Ralda's Details. He had a vacuum reel in his mobile detailing van that was awesome. He is a great guy with really good fabrication skills and customizes mobile detailing rigs. Check his channel out. My personal setup is a little different than this one in the video. This setup in this video was for a friend. I have my Vac system separate on the other side of my garage as it makes more sense for my layout. Check out those vids on my channel as well if you are interested. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

For some reason you guys are using the stiff end to mount the hose real and not the swivel end of the hose.. If you watch the MTM Cobra jet mount on a hose real video made by MTM, they say it's not a live swivel meaning under pressure that swivel doesn't work. That swivel is there solely to make mountain to a hose real easier. The live swivel is built into the gun.

i like it . do you have a general idea of the cost to have plumber and electrician come out?

It will vary dramatically based on your site location and also how far away electric and water sources are from the location you want to install.

How were you able to mount the whole setup to the wall with the bolts for the reels on the way in the back of the board?
@HawaiiDetailing

You can either counter sink the nuts on the back of the plywood (be careful to leave enough meat so that it is securely connected) or drill wholes larger than the nuts into the drywall so that it can sit flush (recommended). This Plywood mounting method only makes sense when you do not want to do major in wall structure changes and drywall work. This vid shows the install without the plywood. kzitem.info/news/bejne/tnyb0WVqs3ajiaw Thanks for watching

What size wrench are you using to tightening the hose to the cox reel? I watch the video from OG and they’re claiming a 24MM and that sucker is too big.

Here’s my question?? When mounting the reels to the plywood, I noticed you didn’t mention the length of the lag bolts used? Were they not sticking out the backside of the plywood? How did you mount the plywood flush to the drywall?

Aloha from Australia, unfortunately we can't get that model karcher in Oz for some weird reason, maybe they won't make it in 240V. Does it vibrate the house a lot? We have a steel framed home and I don't want it to wake up the whole house. I'd put it on some kind of rubber matting to dampen it.

I suggest putting a rubber mat under it. That’s a great way to keep it isolated from the shelf. Thanks for watching

Looks good. Don't understand why he wanted the plywood since the wall was already open for electric and plumbing, why not add the braces then? Still looks nice though.

That little rigid vac has enough to pull through all that hose?

Yeah. Has full suction believe it or not. Works great. The install in my garage video and the interior detail video shows it in action.

What was done with the mounting hardware on the back side of the plywood? I figured it would stick out and get in the way when mounting to the wall

You can slightly countersink and use carriage bolts.

What size bit did you use for the hose reel holes?

Match the bit to the lag bolts you are using. Make sure the lag bolts bite in good and your drill hole is not too large.

The reels and hardware are commercial grade and will last a very long time. They are worth the money. The pump and Vac are items that have a lifespan and need to be replace with time. This whole solution is designed around high end hardware with affordable entry level machines that can be upgraded at a later date if desired. They also offers a very high user experience at an affordable price. Looks cool on the wall too. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it.

Hey there I know this is a very old video but I'm looking for some guidance as I'm forced to use a 2x4 3/4" plywood to mount the same setup (active 2.0 instead of the karcher). I'm an extreme novice when it comes to home improvement so please forgive my lack of knowledge on this but I will be using the cox stainless steel wall plate for the cox reel that Obsessed Garage sells (using for looks) and it comes with 4 lag screws to get that in. Is there any reason you would still stick with the bolts/washer vs using lag screws to mount the cox hose reel steel plate? Would one be more durable over the other? Thank you!
@HawaiiDetailing
Жыл бұрын
If I were using that mount I would screw the lag bolts into the 16” centered studs. If studs are not available a through bolt with washers is much stronger then a lag bolt when it comes to attaching a heavy item to plywood. Hope that helps.

@@HawaiiDetailing Gotcha! That's actually the reason for the plywood, unfortunately the condos here were built with metal studs 24" apart which I didn't bother to check until after I ordered the entire setup. Did you happen to have any issues with the through bolts sticking out the back hitting the drywall? Thank you for the quick response by the way. Hoping to get this on my wall today!

@@slittcerslitt-sir7722 yes you have to use a Carriage bolt and possibly hammer out a small divot where the heads meet the drywall. Should only be a small divot just to allow it to sit flush. .
