My son needed some wood slices to use as centerpieces on the tables for his wedding last weekend. I used my Stihl chainsaw to cut the slices from a hickory log that was about 10 1/2 inches around. My wife cleaned up the bark edges with a wire brush, sanded each one and set them up under the metal roof where I have my lumber drying. She stood them upright and staggered them for good airflow and flipped them each day for 2 weeks before the wedding. We got lucky, none split or cracked and the bark stayed intact. They really looked nice on the tables, great for a rustic or farmhouse look. It was a perfect day and night! Congratulations to John & Mariana! We love you both so much ❤️. Thanks for watching, see you next time!
