This is brilliant! I'm an adult services librarian and a weaver, and this would make a killer adult (and all-ages, really) program at the library! I'll probably make some cardboard looms because we have zero budget, but I absolutely love this idea. Thank you for such a clear and easy-to-follow video!

Hi! So I saw your youtube short, immediately made a loom out of popsicle sticks and wove (weaved?) for the first time! This is officially my new favorite hobby :) My first attempt came out way too tight, but my second one looks so freaking cool. I needed to work on the edges mostly. Anyway, thanks for the video, you're a great teacher.

Prefect timing for this project. I love small, easily accomplished project, after completing a very long project! Thanks Jenell.

I made myself a little loom last year and very quickly gave up on trying to make my own bookmarks but this really makes me want to give it another try! This video is great and I love the bookmark design 🙂

@@spruceandlinen I want to say a huge thank you for the amazing work and effort you put into these videos. I have been going through the ROUGHESTTT time one could imagine and these are honestly getting me through. I just have a question about this pattern. I am looking to incorporate it into my project but how would like it to go horizontally. How would I make it go across vertically?

Okay I'm back! I received your bracelet loom today and I'm ready to grind. 🤭 I know some of this is the magic of editing but I am like a frog trying to make a sandwich! You're so swift! I'm like oh... 30 minute project or so... I'm sure it took 15 minutes for me to do the twinning! 😄 granted it was my first time and I'm using a loosely twisted cotton. 😮💨 oh... and maaaaybe I am just about finished with a bottle of wine. 😬

Hahahaha I love this 🤣 this would definitely take me longer than 30 minutes to create, but the more practice you have the quicker you get 😊 but it’s all about enjoying the process of it!

Yes, please! This is exactly what I need! I actually collect bookmarks. My favorite is a Darth Vader bookmark that my son 3D printed for me. 🥰 Even though I collect bookmarks I end up using pieces of paper and receipts. 🤦🏽♀️

Love your channel and this project! Do you steam your projects when you are done?
@spruceandlinen

Thank you! Depending on the yarn o use for fringe, I sometimes steam out the fringe. This project, if woven with cotton could be ironed, but I found it didn’t really need it.

I received my mini loom. Made my first bookmark used the wrong kind of yarn. Did a second one turned out ok. ( sugar and cream cotton). Do you have more bookmark patterns or know of a book that does? I am having trouble with the twining stitch it so small. I had to buy a smaller needle.

Ordered your bracelet loom and tried this pattern a few times. It looks great until I take it off the loom. I am using 8/4 warp and a yarn slightly thicker than you are using. It ends up not very secure. and falls apart if I pull on it. Can you suggest anything else to avoid this besides one twining stitch?
@spruceandlinen

You could try adding a couple of rows of plain weave at each end and then doing a hemstitch instead, here's a tutorial for hemstitch: kzitem.info/news/bejne/kayZyYOpfaNhqaA

Hi! The pattern that I printed from your website is not the same as the pattern that you are showing on the video. Also, there are 16 rows on the pattern but you have 18 strings. I am confused. Clarification would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
@spruceandlinen

The "16 rows" portion of the pattern represents the weft (horizontal) strings, this pattern needs 18 warp (vertical) strings. If they pattern you downloaded doesn't look the same as the video you may have downloaded the wrong one. Here's a link in case that happened: spruceandlinen.com/collections/patterns/products/diamond-twill-bookmark-pdf-pattern
