Way to go. Recommend you check out some edge banding. It is essentially a very thin strip of veneer that you iron on the raw edge of the plywood. It will really elevate the look.

Some thin paneling on the back of the cube organizers would make the inside look nice! It would also prevent the baskets from falling through.

There is a wood tape you can add to the edges to give you a more finished look. Great job so far ❤️

😂 I actually did something like that recently. It's a sample before I create a more permanent situation, but it's been a few years. Lol! Yours will probably be better than mine is though.

Really cool! Inspired me to do my own, how about some light color wood putty to plug up the screw holes on the wood top?

I just made a craft table because of the cost, but it was still expensive. Though it was still so much cheaper than all of those, and customed to what I want, and it's so much nicer! DO IT!!! You'll LOVE it!!!❤

You can use some wood putty to cover the screw holes. Then just sand it down and stain it as usual.

I highly recommend you put screw from inside the boxes up into the plywood. End grain is very weak and should any type of force be applied to the top and not the cubbies the screw will rip out. Just use a few screws in each cubby to get a firm grip on the top. It will also stiffen the table to not rock as much.

Needs wood veneer for the sides of the table. Also at some point youll want to change it to a much more thick stable wood top trust me. Plywood will warp and bend with time. My husband broke our fish tank this way. Thank god it was empty.

seriously, I had food safe wood oil and used a kitchen sponge to apply. didn't think much of it as it was supposed to be the mild kind, but still... one day later, it really smelled bad like fire and smoke in the basement. went down to find the friggin kitchen sponge on the workbench burnt to charcoal!! 😨 holy fug!!! never again!!! I should have totally informed myself before using that stuff but thankfully a much bigger disaster was averted...
