I'm 51. I was one of the top break dancers on Staten Island in the 80s. Linoleum and Armour All is how we rolled. These guys absolutely put me to shame I must admit. Their moves are extraordinary and works of a professional gymnast. Planet Rock was the #1 break dance jam hands down. Wish I could re-live those days again with my childhood and teenage friends. Kids now will never experience the connections we all had with each other. Glad I lived to experience those times.

No bro they dont put you to shame because if it was not for you they would not be doing what they do. There moves come from you and the other brothers out of New York. You are the originator you did not use gymnastics or anything else it was raw talent and creativity!! You all took something from nothing and look where it is now!!

I'm 59 and I grew up not far from where rap music originated, the foreparent of hip hop. Long before it was on radio it was creatively done at Block Parties with DJs competing with each other. I was astounded and almost in tears (okay, maybe I was) when I heard the first rap song on the radio as I was in college. I said, "Wow! The music from my hood Made it!" Everyone loved it and it took off from there! Thanks Youth all over the globe for carrying it on with song and dance!

Age 54 from East New York. Practiced poppin' and breaking dancing for hours with our cardboard boxes, white gloves, Adidas Track suits, Pumas with fat laces and Kangos, with the Conion Boom box (with alarm). When we were done we were tagging on the A and C trains (RNS Crew). Now, I have a Ph.D. a wife and kids, and a mortgage. But just for one day, I'd love to be that kid again, care free, hitting rewind to Beat Box until the tape popped. I think in many ways, I still am. Thanks for this....
