It is the attitude of people in south africa they tend to be pretty nasty for no reason. Granted they had apartheid but if you think about it so did the rest of the continent in one form or another. If your first impression is south africa it will ruin the rest of the continent. Also taking into account the other parts are poorer and have their problems the people and the scenery makes up for it. I hope that helps
