Outstanding test and demo. I’m sold on this drone. How many people will actually film in that kind of wind, such a small fraction of owners. People in comments say I rather have a bigger drone, in reality again such a small fraction people will film in the conditions you just did. So bigger or smaller not really a factor. This video showed more of impression of such a small compact, light weight portability drone, with excellent features. Best wind test video seen in any size drone.

How many people film in that kind of wind? A LOT! Everyone who lives near the ocean for starters. Ocean winds can be just as rough as what's in this video if no more so. And most cities and population actually are on coastlines. The Air 2S at a minimum if you live on the coast.
@boywonder2799

@@2Bluzin Really, A LOT, I never knew. I surf in So CA, and at 48 Km or 30 Mph in video he mentioned. I have never seen people on beach, or filming. We get 50 mph Santa Ana Winds here and it’s in pretty strong just never new a LOT of people go out and seek to fly in that condition. Never seen it. I can see different parts of the world where it’s windy all time, but out of 29 million drones sold in 2021 I would still think small percent seek fly in high winds. Never new A LOT.

@Chaney Lin oh...... I'm sorry about that. With the expectation and the price, this is certainly not an easy decision. But don't you think that an update in the future will solve the problem of the Nano? I mean the EVO had a lot of improvements after the last update and was usable all of a sudden. But yes, the Mavic Mini and Mini 2 are real powerhouses when it comes to wind resistance.

Would have been nice if you could have specified the actual wind speeds in this video using a simple handheld pocket anemometer so we could understand more intelligibly how it performs for a particular wind speed; otherwise the results just come across as a bit arbitrary.

The performance of this mini 3 is awsome, you should actually compare it with the mini 2 and the air 2S at the same time. And the lower you keep the drone, the more turbulence you've got and the more shaky the drone will be, so flying in high winds means, keep the drone higher. Also one rule in high wind, first fly upwind, before flying downwind :-)

Great video, a real test! I have the same issue with flying my Mini 1 in Ireland... Everything lines up for a great shot but for the (all too usual) wind. As good as the Mini 3 looks, I can't help but eye a bigger drone like the Air 2S or whichever replaces it. More regulations but better able to handle typical Irish weather when I want to fly. I know the Mini 2/3 have better wind performance, but how much better? So how windy is too windy for you with a Mini 3?

Good and useful content. I'm headed out for a longish coastal hike on Anglesey on October 3rd and packing my Mini 3 Pro with me so your wind information might well be useful. I just have to ask, where were you shooting on this day? Next Spring I'm going to try to go hiking in NI covering the north coast and then will be heading over to Glasgow and points south to find the wee village that my Scots ancestors emigrated from. It looks as if your location, wherever it might be, could be an interesting side trip if the timing (and money) work out.

I just do not mess with the wind with my drones anymore. Old Autel X Star Premium did somewhat ok in 15mph winds, 25-30 gusts a few years back...saw and heard it was straining though and briefly thought this beefy Phantom 3 sized drone would be pushed out to the Atlantic off Asbury Park, NJ, it didn't thankfully. In trying to capture a post snowstorm/sunset video this past Jan. outside Philly...I took up my original Mavic Pro and...whoa. Never again. No crash, but the same gusts 25-30...maybe 35mph above 100-200ft, this was struggling hard. If I didn't navigate this behind a tree that thankfully cut down the gusts a tad bit so I could land, this would have been a goner.

I'm impressed with this little beast of a drone but my big takeaway from this is that one should choose the best tool for the job and in winds over 15-18 mph one should choose a heavier more capable drone. For what it is though the M3P is a great piece of tech. I might even get one in a year or two.
