Cool video. I just got a pocket 2 and i have no real filming experience. I was filming today outside in Spain, 40 degree hot sunny day. I used a nd 32. Picture looked good. But when i switched to the wide angle lens and removed the nd i didn't really notice any huge change, it still looked good even though it was a crazy sunny day. I was in auto mode not manual though. Basically my point is why didn't i see a huge difference with and without the nd. Thanks 👍
@billbuckleytutorials
Жыл бұрын
That's because when you removed the ND and in auto mode. Your shutter became a lot faster to compensate for the sunny day. That's fine . But if you have a lot of moving items like cars /people etc . The motion blur will be a little more "jittery" Both methods are fine . Just be aware that having an ND filter on the shutter doesn't have to so fast to help block the light! Check out our DJI masterclass www.billbuckleytutorials.com/ Enjoy this amazing little camera

Very useful tips, indeed. How about recording at night? My videos aren't that so good when I'm filming with my DJI Pocket 2 at nights., although I have watched some really nice videos here on YT. Do you have some video where you explain wich settings to use in this case?
@billbuckleytutorials
Жыл бұрын
Nights are always going to be tricky as the sensor is small. The only thing I would suggest is don't let your ISO get above 800 if you can . The higher the ISO the more noise and grain . You have to be picky on what you film at night and try to find areas that have some lights in the scene if possible...
@4K-Silent-Walker
Жыл бұрын
@@billbuckleytutorials yeah… very tricky. When ISO goes to 3200 it isn’t nice to watch due to noises. Next time I will set the max. ISO tô 800 and see the result. Many thanks for replying! 👍🏻
@allstarbury
Жыл бұрын
So then you recommend nd 32 filter .Day time videos iso max seems also lower than 800 .I was using automode so in vlc player i saw exaclty what i see in this video in my case it was between 100 and 200 .I am using 30 fps Will you recommend any filter to low light? Cheers

@billbuckleytutorials

You want as much light as posible . slow shutter 1/25 and a higher ISO ( but try to keep it < 1000 ) otherwise it's grainy

I only have ND16. Could you recommend the setup for the ND16 option?
@billbuckleytutorials
Жыл бұрын
ND 16 will be enough depending on how bright the day is. You could simply use the ND 16 and leave your shutter in "Auto". This would mean that the camera will adjust the shutter to get the correct exposure. for your scene. This may not give you the 180 degree shutter rule . But your video may look totally fine. either way the ND16 can't do any harm. If you don't like the final video you need to invest in an ND32 also. ..Good luck!

great video. Question: when filming while walking on a sunny day, with moving people in the shot, would you suggest using nd filters to get the best quality? or is it possible to do this without the filters?
@billbuckleytutorials
Жыл бұрын
In a pinch you would be fine if you don't have an ND filter . As the software will increase your shutter to compensate exposure. However it's a good habit to put an ND filter on any time your outside on a bright day. so either way your covered.. One good way to test this is film some moving cars etc outside without an ND . Your shutter speed will increase .( people don't usually move as fast to make a difference ) Play it back and you will see that the cars have more of a staggered movement vs a smooth movement if using an ND filter! Good Luck! 😀

On the main screen you have 2 icons . Top right shows you your battery charge ( a full battery will give you 82 mins of continuous filming) and the bottom right shows you How much data you have left on your memory card ( so your time will depend on whether you shoot in 4K or 1080P and the battery life)
