Patience is my Achilles heel! I want this timelapse now! 🤣 What other tips or tricks do you use for your timelapse and video with DJi Osmo Pocket general?

The footage on the Osmo Pocket definitely has its own look and the dynamic range is definitely a bit lower than some other cameras. Also I filmed in cine like “flat” color profile. To avoid this you can shoot in the standard profile or color grade a bit more intensively so compensate. Thanks for sharing your time with me! 🤘🏼

Thanks for the video. I always set up my timelapses on my iPhone via bluetooth and after the recording is started I shut the iPhone off to save battery. When the battery of my Osmo Pocket is half empty I hook up the power bank to make sure I can record a lot or as many timelapses as needed on my trip. I can even start the app again and reconnect to bluetooth and watch the progress of an ongoing timelapse. Works great!

This was a good video. I use my Osmo Pocket/ phone combo exclusively so I don’t have to carry a lot of gear to film stuff. My personal recommendation for time lapse is the wireless adapter. Once you’ve set up you manual settings on pro mode, the settings will stay, weather you connect or disconnect your phone. The wireless adaptor allows me to set up my shot after placing my Pocket on its Gorilla Pod, but not touch it after. That means that if I am doing a long time lapse, I can walk away from my camera with my phone to do other things and not have to worry about the camera. Just make sure you are comfortable with where you left your camera. I did this while filming a sunrise time lapse at a local dam in the early morning and walked around filming, shooting and exploring the dam. Also, you can play games or keep yourself entertained for really long time lapses. This method kinda works well when time lapsing two cameras at the same time (I used my Osmo Pocket & Action) but the Bluetooth will always conflict. And I agree 100% about making sure you have that external battery. Since the Osmo Pocket has an internal battery, if you screw up its battery life, you can’t do anything about it. I use mine as a stationary camera to make packing videos for work, and the camera is usually filming for a good 4-6 hours a day. After a couple years of that, my Osmo pockets battery life kinda sucks now, so I usually keep it plugged in all the time when filming recreationally since it will die after 15-30 minutes of filming and only unplug it when I need to. I have another tip about GoPro mounts but I don’t know how to properly articulate it in words. It’s just something I figured out since I usually have a gorilla pod and a magnetic mount or a clip mount on me and wanted a quick way to interchange between the three based on how I want to shoot. If I wasn’t camera shy myself, I should just make a video about it :)

Nice tips. Thing with... the backpack strap though, I was just in Japan and I tried using a backpack mount.... but there were wayyyy too many people for my footage to be of any use. Thanks for these "beginner tips". In my opinion you should have spent more attention on the use of nd-filters like the nd64 filter, that lets you get rid of these stop-motion-effect and adds some motion blur when timelapsing people. I know the pros and cons- it is only useful when taking pictures and you have to avoid the rising of the iso in automatic mode.
