The Ronin seems to be really awesome. :O And for a professional production it's price is okay, I think. I really like your grading/CC. The grass and brick walls look nice and love how the sky is so detailed although it's sunny. *-* RAW FTW. :D

I wonder how you color grade your videos. Even your Stormfreerun Volume1 Video had great colors for dslr footage. Tell me about it! (Probably Davinci???)
@vincentlomascolo1867
9 жыл бұрын
***** color grading helps, but that's mostly the RED Epic's color range at work, you throw the right LUT onto that in post, and there's little wrong you can do.

Great video! Can you tell me how you powered the Epic? I've seen tons of photos with Epics mounted on the Ronin but NONE of them show how the Epic is powered, absent a huge brick.

Had a 130w v-lock battery on the back of the camera as well as the side handle mounted on. It's not perfect as it only allows for ~30 degrees of upwards tilt but it lasts a long time!

Claudiu Voicu Thanks for the reply! I'm seriously considering buying one but I've been hearing reports of the rig being heavy and even glitchy. What are your thoughts?
@claudiuvoicu
10 жыл бұрын
ragtop63 Well, it's definitely heavy with an Epic on it but not too bad. Glitchy... kind of. It suffers from the roll axis issue despite being balanced very well, and the smoothtrack is sometimes slow even on max speed, but I guess the next firmware upgrades should fix that. I'd still use this over a movi just for the construction and ease of balance.

hi i was one of the five people who had the privileged of beta testing before release and i had the battery problem...other guys spent thousands on slim line battery's...i purchased 10x lipo 5000mah heli battery's from hobby king and each one powers me for over an hour with a little over an hour to charge... battery's 37 bucks each...charger quad for 170 bucks... lightweight and compact...amazing.. made a small bracket in the garage.. look at my video here under "2ndunitfilms"....on the ronin adapter.plate..you might be able to see the rig with the battery attached...

+Joey Plecas the other guy may be right but i would disagree and say they manually pulled the zoom as they were filming and moving. u get the depth of field length difference effect or the 'hitchcock pull' which makes me think it was done in camera while filming.
@JoshWoodYouTube
8 жыл бұрын
+Joey Plecas yea now that I look I'm positive. At this time: 1:00 ... because look at the corners of the frame. There is no vignetting then at the end of the zoom u can see slight vignetting which is probably the lens hood.

The cinematography is great, the ronin is not... Very robotic pans and small movements, it's a shame. I think this is a very overrated product to be honest.
