Roy Brown was due to have a 10 minute NHS provided funeral. I was asked if any RBL Riders Branch could attend and three of us were going to pay our respects to his 99 year old veteran of WW2 (Burma star awarded).
The Gloucester RBL bumped this up to a 30 minute funeral service, standard bearers, Last Post bugler, Royal Marines (serving and association), AARC (Imjin Barracks), and 4 other bike riders in addition to us 3 RBL Riders.
It was quite a send off for a chap who had no family to provide a funeral for him.
That's the sort of thing the Royal British Legion does, apart from much, much, more.
