Everyone already has DMT in them, so they will try it. This should be done by professionals only, not alone or with a friend who is new, but only professionals. It's not needed entirely as we have weaker anti-depressants like cannabis oil and mushroom extracts.

Dmt dissolved 10 years of depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts in 10 minutes for me. When I opened my eyes I came back as a different me. All trauma had been disssolved before my very eyes. I understood what love and understanding truly meant, and 9 months on I’ve never experienced any of the depression and anxiety that plagued my existence beforehand. I saw every path that everyone had ever taken and why. It was the greatest most profound experience of my life. Just my experience.

In my opinion DTM is actually a cure, not a drug. It’s also called the truth compound, it makes you see and perceive your world with the truth which could be hurtful sometimes (PTSD person talking) but only going forward to the pain you can get rid of toxic behaviours that your brain makes you do by fears and anxiety, yes, it is possible to break the circle. English is not my first language btw sorry if it’s not very understandable

I microdose DMT every day and it literally destroys anxiety and depression, I can't describe how or what happens other than euphoria and clarity. Pre microdosing I was suicidal, angry, hopelessly sad and a bitter person, now I feel like what I imagine a normal person feels like, Ive only been microdosing for a week or so but WOW what a difference. It's hard to explain but I fell... good. I've had DMT before but today just felt different. I'm looking forward to my hit later in the few weeks, but I just would love for this to become more investigate. I saw a lady trying to invite me further into the trip but I was too scared and she disappeared but then I became more calm and let the trip take over. A few moments later I opened my eyes and was seeing patterns everywhere but I felt so happy and started laughing from everything. I'm smiling now while I'm writing about my trip.

Imagine a society that subjects people to conditions that make them terribly unhappy, then gives them drugs to take away their unhappiness. Science fiction? It is already happening to some extent in our own society. It is well known that the rate of clinical depression has been greatly increasing in recent decades. We believe that this is due to disruption of the power process, as explained in paragraphs 59-76. But even if we are wrong, the increasing rate of depression is certainly the result of SOME conditions that exist in today’s society. Instead of removing the conditions that make people depressed, modern society gives them antidepressant drugs. In effect, antidepressants are a means of modifying an individual’s internal state in such a way as to enable him to tolerate social conditions that he would otherwise find intolerable.

But even the poor people have more access to modern conveniences and things that people 1,000 years ago could not even dream of. Yet we're still so unhappy. You need to think deeper. Buddha figured it out thousands of years ago. Human desires are insatiable. The more we see, the more we want. Only feasible way to achieve satisfied happiness is to control your desires. @@alexfrank5331 As the Industrial Revolution proceeded, modern society created for itself a self-congratulatory myth, the myth of “progress”: From the time of our remote, ape-like ancestors, human history had been an unremitting march toward a better and brighter future, with everyone joyously welcoming each new technological advance: animal husbandry, agriculture, the wheel, the construction of cities, the invention of writing and of money, sailing ships, the compass, gunpowder, the printing press, the steam engine, and, at last, the crowning human achievement-modern industrial society! Prior to industrialization, nearly everyone was condemned to a miserable life of constant, backbreaking labor, malnutrition, disease, and an early death. Aren’t we so lucky that we live in modern times and have lots of leisure and an array of technological conveniences to make our lives easy? Today I think there are relatively few thoughtful, honest and well-informed people who still believe in this myth. To lose one’s faith in “progress” one has only to look around and see the devastation of our environment, the spread of nuclear weapons, the excessive frequency of depression, anxiety disorders and psychological stress, the spiritual emptiness of a society that nourishes itself principally with television and computer games…one could go on and on

From my experience/experimentation, I believe psychedelics/mediation/sound frequencies breaks down the barrier between our conscious and subconscious mind, allowing our conscious mind to experience our sub conscious thoughts, feelings and memories..... however I also believe, in our subconscious mind we can access the universal consciousness...... One of my first truly breakthrough experiences, during my own experimentation was this..... the words/feeling/communication I was experiencing, felt as if they were coming from someone/something/somewhere else and I was completely awake and luci, I was actually standing at the time while having the communication.... """"" Hey we've been waiting for you....... don't be scared...... don't be scared....... your family is here with us..... you don't really know him well, but he's family, he's family...... it's (then proceeded to tell me a name) he's safe, he's here with us, he's your family don't worry, he's with us"""" 3 days later I was with my mum and we were talking about our family and I was asking if any of my older family members had caught or been effected by c v..... at first she said no.... then after a short pause she said her cousin..... with the same name I had heard/felt/experienced 3 days before had been in a coma for 4 days with pneumonia and died the day after my experience......... I was gobsmacked and instantly began to feel an incredibly sadness this was one of the most profound experiences of my life......... I had only ever met the man a few times and never really seen him or his family in my day to day life or on social media as I only use this......... there had been no mention from anyone or way of me knowing about his predicament in the weeks prior. I was a hard-core atheist before this....... now I have a new found sense of........ enlightenment amazement, fascination and desire to discover the world to which is there but we cannot see or experience, not in our normal state anyway. Peace, power and freedom to all the psychonauts out there.......

I highly suggest you try and build up from small doses of LSD (starting from 50 ug, then 100 ug, them 140-160ug), and then do DMT. DMT is very intense and it's always better to have a similar experience like LSD before you move onto DMT.

Actually, ayahuasca contains 3 other psychedelic molecules, of which Harmine, a neuro generator increasing the amount of BDNF. So, it’s more efficient for depression than just DMT. That why ayahuasca is called a medicine. It gives answers to your existential questions and it physically heals your brain.

as someone who has suffered from depression for the most part of his life i can say this for me: the psycedelic experiences have always been kind to me and i learned a lot about me and for me. however, the antidepressive effect clearly seems to have a different reason then psychological growth. dmt did not cure my depressions at all, i have to use it about once a month or i will become depressive again. vaporizing dmt is like turning a switch every time. the antidepressive effect for me is immidiately and total, it kicks in even before the psychedelic effects do.

thank you researchers. You guys are doing incredible work because nothing is worse than having any sort of mental illness like depression, anxiety, OCD. The patients suffering from depression and anxiety took their lives despite of having everything good in their life. So anyone can predict how debalitating the illness is. No one is born depressed and when they hit by depression they suffer for years and some of them took their lives. They prefer to commite suicide rether than suffer rest of their life. The treatment developed yet are not working. The hypothesis of the current treatment modalities are wrong. You are doing great work. I hope one day you will find the right treatment of these demons. thank you Keep doing this....

In a galaxy far, far away, there was a kangaroo named Joey. Joey was no ordinary kangaroo, however. He was a space kangaroo, born and raised on a distant planet where the inhabitants were all marsupials like himself. Joey had always been fascinated by the stars and the vast expanse of space beyond his home planet. He spent his days reading books about the cosmos and building homemade rockets in his backyard. One day, when Joey was out exploring the desert-like terrain of his home planet, he came across an abandoned alien spacecraft. Excited by the discovery, he climbed aboard and pressed every button he could find. To his surprise, the engines roared to life and the ship took off into the sky. Joey soon found himself hurtling through space at incredible speeds, passing by stars and planets he had only ever dreamed of seeing. He traveled to distant galaxies, met strange and wonderful alien creatures, and had adventure after adventure. Years went by, and Joey became a legendary space explorer, known throughout the galaxy for his bravery and determination. He returned to his home planet as a hero and was celebrated by his fellow marsupials. But Joey was not content to rest on his laurels. He knew that there was still so much of the universe left to explore and so many more adventures to be had. So, he climbed back into his trusty alien spacecraft and blasted off into the great unknown, ever in search of new discoveries and exciting adventures as the Space Kangaroo.

I think there's still a long road ahead. You need to stop antidepressants for at least a certain amount of time or you can't take part. But most struggle with coming off them and then stay on them. So they'll not get chance to do it. Personally I can see this treatment becoming some sort of thing that non depressed people do to prevent depression, or just like the positive effects it leaves for a while afterwards.

Raised heart rate and blood pressure is 100% a side effect, let alone what it might do to your ability to discern between connected and unconnected things in the environment (apophenia). I'm sure there's real potential, but mental illness is complex. Totally deserving of urgent research.

Yes... but even better is doing it weeks apart and linking up in that alternate perception of time. Time as we know it ceases to work that way when a dose of DMT hits. Indescribable.

It's not common. What is common is returning to places multiple times while on dmt and meeting similar if not identical entities with others. But there are reports of people tripping with friends and meeting the same beings and the beings acknowledging others on the room if previous contact has been made. Some of the strongest evidence that this stuff is much bigger and more important than a "medicine" by astronomical levels.

Funny when the women says she couldn't imagine that psychedelics could be a option for healing although it is widely known that humans use psychedelic since centuries to do what now scientists try to do in a complicated manner. I think if they want to understand what's going on in the psychedelic world there is no way around to experience it. I also think that at the end you have to learn a lot from the wisdom of humanity in terms of energy healing and shamansism to be a real healer. The perfect healer in my opinion is somebody who has studied from a potent shaman for years and in the best medicine universities and has been thought by Eastern mystics for years.

So, I've been looking at a lot of DMT videos. I want to try it. People keep saying "DMT finds you". I'm watching a movie and this guy says "When you die, on your death bed, you will receive total consciousness". That's so weird because I know people say it feels like dying sometimes. Kinda feels like it's calling me, or it may just be me. Lol

It is SUPER illegal if you are in the States. So be very careful if you are searching for it... On your second point, since a 10-15 minute "trip" in real time involves anywhere from 2 - infinite hours in your perspective (like a dream does) of your thinking mind many people have concluded that when your brain "dies" it releases the small dose we all have in our brains (most or all mammals and plants do) and the moment of real world time that we die we experience eons of time. Blah blah blah I could go on. Not something to take lightly is my point.

@@moribundxix , Oh, no, I hear you. I do not in the slightest take DMT as a joke. If I ever do try it, which I probably will, I'll go in with nothing but respect and love. I think it could be a good treatment for some people, but why do they never talk about the people who have negative experiences or become psychologically traumatized by DMT because the experience might've been too terrifying? If you read some of the stories on Erowid, not all of them are positive. Psychedelics can really mess a person up if their brain is wired differently than the people that have positive experiences. It's not a one size fits all. A lot of people enjoy weed but personally it makes me feel like I'm dying every single time I've tried it, and then I become traumatized for long periods of time afterwards. I can't even imagine what DMT would do to someone like me. I love that they're studying psychedelics for depression and i support them eventually becoming treatments. I just wish that they had more nuance in these documentaries. Everyone's brain is a little bit different.

This is nothing different than the analogy of taking Ibuprofen for treating symptoms of a brain tumor, instead of curing the diseaee. It is promising as a better medication to the horrible SSRIs, but most depression and anxiety disorders have a complex psychological root, that most of the time has to do with adverse situations, trauma or the socioeconomic situation the person is born in, and not necessarily a neurotransmitter imbalance fixed by drugs.

@jimmytimmy3680

@@pipebombpete.6861 Precisely. The socioeconomic conditions of most countries cause most of the diagnoses of depression/anxiety. But instead of fixing the causes, which all faux governments of the world do not address, because of corporate interests, the Pharmaceutical Companies have taken advantage and made billions off of peoples' tragic situations. Society has to change, not individuals' neurochemistry.

Drug treatments are only one aspect of dealing with depression. The other is that we, as human beings, need to change the social and economic systems that encourage alienation and loneliness. Native cultures that used these medicines understood this implicitly, and did not routinely have large numbers of people depressed or anxious.

It’s not very scientific to hope for a result in a clinical test. The results of the test can’t be reliable if the “scientist” is “hoping” for some kind of result. The results will be at least biased.

you are right of course. this is but one bit of anectotical evidence but no prove at all. however, there have been a lot of scientific studies in the past years that clearly show that psychedelics do in fact have very powerful antidepressive properties. the hopkins university has done some, but other universities have done some too. its a very hot topic in the scientific world.
