Assalam O Alikum!
In this Video I Am Gonna Tell You about DNA replication in Prokaryotes.
DNA REPLICATION:
Process by which a double-stranded DNA is copied to produce two identical DNA molecules.
Once the DNA in a cell is replicated, cell can divide into two cells, each of which has an identical copy of the original DNA.
Occurs in all living organisms and is the basis for biological inheritance.
DNA replication is semi conservative because contained one of the original strands and one new strand.
PROKARYOTIC DNA REPLICATION
Prokaryotic chromosome is a circular molecule with a less extensive coiling structure than eukaryotic chromosomes.
Bidirectional replication
THREE steps are involved in DNA replication:
1.Initiation - replication begins at Ori
2. Elongation - new strands of DNA are synthesized by DNA polymerase
3. Termination _ termination occurs at a point called ter sequence and it act ass a binding site for TUS protein.
many protein factors are involved in dna replication of Prokaryotes such as:
DNA a protein
DNA b or helicase4
DNA c
DNA polymerase I
DNA polymerase III
DNA topoisomerase II or DNA gyrase
primase
DNA ligase
TUS protein
at the end an overview in the form of summary is given.
