In today's video, we are taking you with us as we do a lesson in Dimensions Math 4A, working with Fractions.
As a rule of thumb we set a timer for 40 minutes and start our math lesson. We stop for the day if we complete that one lesson in less than 40 minutes. However, if we do not complete the lesson in one day, we stop at the 40-minute mark and start again fresh the next day. I have found this time a sweet spot for us. Every once in a while, we will push our time and go 50 minutes, but that is very rarely.
Generally, we will only use the textbook (yes, we write in our textbook). If we need another day of practicing a concept, this is when I will use the workbook. I also use the workbook & test book for spiral review, or independent work days, where she can work on a topic we have previously covered with a math lesson.
