I think Mark Zuckerberg said it best in a Facebook comment section some years back. He posted something on his facebook page, and a female commenter said "I wish my daughter gets married to someone as smart and rich as you in the future"... Mark actually replied her and said "Don't wish for your daughter to marry someone rich and smart, wish for your daughter to become rich and smart, and she should then end up with someone like her".

Oreofe has a point about marriage being a partnership but the thing is that how many men agree that marriage is a partnership? A lot of men these days would rather convulse than agree that theyre equal with their wives so where does this stand? Men need to first agree that they are in partnership with their wives, give their wives freedom to fly and also, be open. It is that simple.

Also I'll add that the line between emotions and logic are blurry...if there are any lines at all. What we call 'logic' are infact neurological and sensory patterns that we evolved and retained from the days of our hunter-gatherer ancestors. Basically, their survival algorithm. There is also no scientific and even socially documented research that indicates any kind of variation in the 'sensory dna algorithm' based on sexes. Emotions are much more faster and reflexive 'Logic'. For example, take this 'logical' scenario: So when Mr. A wanted to choose a partner, he decided to be much more logical. He wrote down a short list of what he 'needs' from a spouse. Beauty - for the sake of his children looks Brains- Ditto Culinary skills- for his stomach's sake Up and down- for shaboinking ease That apparently is logical. The emotional 'opposite' would still be Mr. A. not having written anything down and just falling in love with a woman who embodies these traits. What informed those choices? Well, our ancestors bore the brunt and harshness of natural selection the most. The only ones whoose DNA survived to this generation were those who made certain choices. Or did not. The choice of a partner included. The 'love' and 'lust' emotions are 'logically' informed by our hunter-gatherers ancestors DNA. And our logic also the same. Sorry I failed summary in high school😂 Enjoyed the show as always tho

Saying that when men get older they look younger than the woman cause the woman has been overused AND also saying that men get down with sicknesses at their mid lives because of financial burden are infact contradictory statements. Especially when both statements were agreed to by the majority. Also, objectively, the 'my money is my money and his money is our money' thingy varies greatly according to the values, settings and perceptions of the couples involved. A man who values a traditional setting in his house definitely has no business asking the wife to support him. Finances are the only responsibility he has(Noone cares that the capitalist system of today can no longer contain such traditional arrangement as he chose it himself) and it would be absolutely unfair to require his wife to contribute anything to the household.

honestly, about the earning power, and feminine power thing, it is still catering to someone who holds significant power over you- A MAN. Even with all the added advantages, how many women are actually at the top? so las las, you don't have more earning power than him cos you are catering to him- A MAN who is in power. and someone who has the power to feed you can starve you, so the day you don't fit the whims or gratify their fantasies, God help you! lmap. if it was so much about feminine power, we would have had lots of women at the top, even by mere sleeping with who is at the top. so las las, they give you breadcrumbs, just enough to keep you thinking that you have power, but they are winning more. That's why very successful women are sometimes termed masculine because to be successful to that level, you have to embody some of the characteristics normally attributed to men. Sure feminine power has its own advantages, however, when it comes to the real world, and getting to the top as a woman, you're gonna need to be qualified and graced with tenacity and a strong mind and heavenly backing, cos the other gender sometimes dey get fragile ego. so called "feminine energy" alone, ain't gonna get you there boo.

First of, women are very funny. As a man I want the best for my daughter when I do have her someday (soon God's willing). What I am against is, to say, whatever a man can do women can do it as well...as a man I can't say I want to carry babies in my womb no matter how I might want that...we are different and our differences are beautiful. A man will be more than willing to stand up & let a woman have a seat. We should drop this agenda, it is a slippery slope. We are seeing how it is playing out abroad. You want to climb trees like your brothers & your parents say no...how is that a wrong from your parents? There are areas women have more opportunities and advantages, like nursing, media, Day Cares, Hr & Admin/Personal assistants I don't see men crying foul. And yes! Women are more emotional, few exemptions do not make the rule. If women make better leaders, the women on the panel should honestly say how many of them have voted the few women who have stood for elective positions during elections. The argument is similar to men being paid more...companies are out for profit then they will be hiring more women to be able to make more profits...if they are paying men more JUST because of their gender. Any man that says he doesn't want his wife to out earn him...that one has issues. They were a bit rough on mummy, forgetting there are generational differences. I like Oreofe's take...the example she gave about even if it's her sister that is living with her and not contributing, I hope more women have this kinds of thought processes.

So i do believe that there is something called feminine power but it does not however come from a place of being naturally loved. Firstly, women are most likely favored because of how they look, the one's who are not so beautiful don't get anything like pretty privilege whatsoever(basically objectification). Secondly, some of the ladies said something about "because she's a woman, let's be soft on her " or something, that's basically viewing women as weak and not being placed on the same pedestal as men. I also believe that the working spheres are still more dominated by men, it's one of the reasons why we never had a female president in Nigeria, they are majorly looked down upon, so yes men are still more privileged, it is not as rampant as it was but It definitely still exists . Not related but many women who have made their way to the top are also mostly accused of sleeping their way there. Lastly, majority of these women speak from a personal point of view and not from the point of view of an average woman living in Nigeria, because you did or did not experience such does not mean others didn't or it doesn't exist.
@patrickrumbu2902

No, that is not what i meant.. I will not be saying women and men are of the same strength, physically... Most men are stronger(most, not all) ... Casandra most of the times wants what she says to be final, which is not good, you should be willing to see from other perspective if you claim to be learned. I'm a man, and one thing i strongly agree about is that marriage should be a partnership, both the husband and wife should be willing to do things that needs to be done for the family without condemning one gender to it, when it comes to chores, My wife won't be cooking, and I will still expect her to go and clean, or cut grass, it's just common sense and love. Same thing goes for paying the bills, Of course Im the man, Im meant to carter for the family and I will, but when I need support financially from my wife, it should be a no brainer that she should be willing to step up for me. Overall, watching this video at least shows that there are still good reasonable women out there, not like the ones we see on hunt game show, that are money hungry.

Cassandra didn't eventually justify how exactly men have more advantage in tech. It seems she's still in the past. These days there are numerous tech roles(only women scholarships, grants, free certifications, free vouchers, etc) only women can apply to. You're not getting that job( if open to both genders) only because there's a male(or even female) applicant who did better in the interviews, has more experience, is willing to take lesser pay or was recommended by an employee of the company. Zainab is a joke, your money is your sibling's money lol.

I guess that is where she missed it, when you want to solve a bias their is a tendency to solve the symptoms and not the root cause. You end up tiping the scale in favour of the other person you are trying to compensate. Life is not generally fair whether male or female. If we want to solve some of these problems we have to look beyond solving the symptoms and start solving for the actual reason for the problem. That comes from having empathic leaders who genuinely want to solve these problems in Africa.

Women can be very funny in these kinds of conversations. Yes, I agree that gender should not be a criteria for moving forward in life or achieving things. Most women just want to have it all. Yes, house chore is not easy but they're making it look like it's only beneficial to the men. A man that is providing for the family and is hardly ever home will not always get to see the work that the house wife even did. How many of you like living in dirty homes? Women and children are not the principal ones that suffer in wars. I don't think these women have ever sat down to think of the horrors that men went or go through in wars when being forced in some cases to fight in wars under the context of defending/serving their countries. Very few come out of such battle grounds with all parts intact. Today, a man is seen as nothing when he has no money. You are even looked down on or seen as gay when you're invested in trying to look good or better. But then society praises women for trying to look beautiful and earn huge living. You can't be preaching for equal rights for everyone and then be saying that a man that doesn't have money or is poor has no right or business in a romantic relationship. There's so much that needs to be said but I'll stop here. Thank you.

you can’t separate the opportunities available to women in africa, especially from key factors like exposure, power systems, cultural norms, and access to education and resources. these elements play a significant role in shaping the economic, social, and political environments that either enable or limit women's progress. without addressing these foundational factors, true equality and opportunity for women remain elusive. dont be indigenous and ignorant please.
