I agree and disagree with this. When I hear high prey drive I think of stalking and killing of other animals and that just not what I've experienced in my 30 years of owning boxers. I've had several boxers and while they are driven to check out other animals, I've never once had one hurt by my boxers. My boy loves all creatures and seems to feel they are all his buddies. I've had to take away several possums and toads and he cries. The only one hurt is my boys feelings when I take his new BFF away. Lol. I've never seen an ounce of aggression from any of my boxers. However they are big babies and just want to play and can hurt smaller animals by their clumsy playful ways, but again not on purpose. My experience, this is no longer a guard dog. I think if I had an intruder my boxer would welcome him in and lick him to death but I doubt very seriously he'd do much beyond wag his butt at the intruder. If you want a playful pooch well into his senior years, who's expressions keep you laughing, rarely barks and who's happy to be a couch potato at times, then a boxer if for you. I've never met another breed with as much character as a boxer, but maybe I'm just being partial. Lol.
