Good stuff! I noticed my little succulent started growing a stem, and a couple of beautiful little floweres popped out.

I have this echeveria that grew 2 flower stalks from the side and went to death bloom. 😢 It didn't have offsets. I thought it was doing well as it didn't show any sign of death bloom. 5 days later, the flowers withered and all the leaves fell off. Now I'm hella confused why it did that. It wasn't root rot or overwatering or any other problems. It was healthy one week and dead the following week. I approached the lady I bought it from in Benguet. She said it was a hybrid of 2 echeveria (I forgot the specific names). She was just as surprised that it went to death bloom as both parent plant are polycarpic.

Hi Ace, yes, that is really strange! Usually death blooms are in the middle, where it connects directly to the stem and yes, with offsets. Oh well, it is strange to even have it in echeverias. I was very in denial when I first saw it. But I guess our succulents have ways to amaze us even more. But I am sorry to hear that you did not have offsets. Mine are growing well now and are in good sizes but too precious I have not really separated them yet. =)

Is the death bloom only in the center?

Yes, they are always only growing from the centre of the mother plant.☺️

Can you cut the bloom before it goes into death bloom?

Hi there. In our experience, cutting the death bloom does not really cancel out the death of the mother plant. It still eventually dies but cutting the bloom just 1)keep mealy bugs away and 2) get the plant to concentrate on growing the offsets that grew on the sides instead of putting its energy on shooting up the flowers. =)
