This individual mentioned that they were a caregiver for family members. They should totally extract those hours as clinical experience!!!

How do students get clinical during COVID? Opportunities are just opening up this year.

Lots of job positions & volunteering at testing sites were still available. Just had to look a bit harder. -MW

I have about 150 hours of shadowing and 50 hours of clinical volunteering + scribing what should I do? I’m trying to find more opportunities but if not will this be enough?

The best advice I ever got was to do things you enjoy. If you like cooking, maybe join a non-profit that teachers underserved communities how to cook. Things like that.

I was wondering, how would being in the National Guard and volunteering to deploy to Puerto Rico and Louisiana during hurricane disasters, help on my med school application? And I’m the youngest Sergeant (Sgt/E-5) my unit has and about to be the youngest E-6/Staff Sgt in my unit count towards leadership?

There are even more entry level jobs in healthcare right now that offer direct patient care, so COVID isn’t a valid excuse anymore lol

honestly, it wasn't an excuse at any time. I work at a hospital we always had entry-level opening as a tech

You shouldn't have to have a job in health care before you can go to medical school. Becoming a doctor already requires sacrificing 4 yrs of undergrad, 4 medical school + 3-7 years of residency and fellowship.

If she's a full-time accountant and has a family, why should she go entry-level CNA that gets paid close to minimum wage? That is not feasible especially since she is clearly trying to save up money for apps.

Also in some states, most entry level jobs at the hosptial require a license of some kind. In Oregon, you have to have a minimum of an EMT or CNA 2 work at a hospital.
