Yup, L-girder bench work is nearly impossible to relocate if you need to move. (Don’t we move though to get more space and a new, bigger layout?) But there are advantages to both to consider. Grid bench work is probably quicker but it’s so rectangular! I think I’ll go with L-girder just because I can vary the fascia and add some curves and avoid bowling lane appearance.

Oh I'm going to love getting into that debate. I'm building a layout for client right now that's replacing L girder with my work. I'm disposing of the L girder for him so I'm totally going to make a video on my real thoughts on L girder benchwork that may or may not include a Giant fire.

Ooooh, you found a subject that could rile up a lot of model railroaders, pro and con.

I thought L-girder benchwork was adding the L on top of a framed out benchwork. Do you have an example of L-girder benchwork you could share?

I can't post pictures in thread but it's the first thing that pops up in a google search. I'll have an example in a week or so that I'll try to put together a video with.
