I picked up a 2023 for $6k otd with 1mile back in March. I have around 4500 miles on it now. The 2023 and up has three rider modes. They added off-road mode in which you can turn off rear ABS as well as adding a button to turn off traction control in any rider mode. I haven't had the gear indicator/cruise issue yet. Seems to be a bigger problem with the first gen models. I really really have enjoyed the bike so far through daily commuting and lots of hard twisties riding out here on the California coast. I had my bikes suspension setup by a professional suspension tuner for my weight and riding style and it has made the bike feel even better.

You should get the sport model in new, and you'll be as happy as I am. It did have an ABS issue, and CFmoto recalled it, and it's been fine ever since. I've never had the gearing issue you have, which could be the reason yours is only 2500. Neutral sometimes might have issue especially when it runs hot. But It's still way better than the Harley or Yamaha cruisers we've had. Talking about support, CFMOTO is the only Chinese motorcycle manufacturer entering the US as a company itself. It'd be great if you can find an authorized CFmoto dealer in your area. Mine did my recall and it's been pleasure experience. CFmoto had been making BIG name in the ATV and UTV world for years. Their motorcycle is fairly new, and I had to say they are not the no.1 quality even in China, but given their reputation in the ATV world, they would catch up soon especially when they got more KTM stuff in. QJ made better motor and they collaborate with Harley, but we do not have them in the US yet.

I wanted this bike a lot. It is beautiful. But after reading an endless list of problems many people were having a ditched those plans and got an MT07. I'm interested in an easy going, cruise local touring kind of ride and thought the 700CLX would be better and I think the bike even looks better. I love the seat and it looks more comfy for 2up riding. But the reliability just killed it for me. Went with the MT07 as my first bike (wanted an MT09 and low power mode but could only convince my wife with used MT07 prices). I hope to have a Ducadi Diavel 1260S one day! Believe the hype; the XSR900 can be a cruiser, a standard, a low-powered bike, a trackday bike, a tourer. The power modes are very interesting and I don't think riders use them enough. I basically switch the power modes all the time depending on conditions but often have it at the lowest power mode in the twisties.

I will say that the throttle mapping for the throttle by wire is kinda weird but it seems to be a lot better when you turn the traction control off. I have been looking into the Team MSC and Throttle Punks ecm tunes as they are supposed cure the weird throttle mapping issues as well as 7+hp gains. Throttle Punks also makes a custom high flow intake to go along with their tune. T-Rex Racing makes a crash cage, skid plate and sliders for this bike. Also there are some U.S. mfgs working on exhausts for these.

I’m old. I like a rear fender instead of the license plate hanging on a weird arm. 100 years ago Harley developed the Jiffy Stand™️. When there’s weight on the stand it cannot be retracted. N00bs to H-D are freaked out about it until they get used to it. I’m guessing that like many bikes, including my Moto Guzzi, the gear position is calculated by speed and rpm. It doesn’t know what gear it is in until it can compare the speed to the rpm. As someone who follows racing I’m a fan of CFMoto in Moto3 and Moto2. It took you 20 minutes of rambling to finally tell people that you are actually riding a KTM. The 690cc KTM engine is the heart of that motorcycle, and all KTM 690cc engines are made in China. CF MOTO and QJ MOTO (with its lux brand VOGE) are only half chinese brands. The first one is KTM, and the other is BMW (they are making 850 and smaller cc engines for BMW for over 15 years/ if you buy a BMW 400cc scutter, it is chinese made), and both companies have teams in lesser MOTO GP categories (MOTO 3 and MOTO 2). There is a third chinese company which is also nothing to sneaze at is KOVE which makes great off road bikes.

Interesting video, thanks! Difficult to find neutral? Sounds like my BMW F800 GT 😂! So it happens. Happens also that gears change, habe had that recently on my old ZZR-600, when stopping. It might have to do with the gear change mechanism not completely in neutral and some tension on it, that is released by the vibes of the engine start. The complaint about aftermarket parts is misplaced imo. You don't buy a motorbike for low price to spend a fortune on customs. Kind of silly. For cred, I can tell you that CFmoto's are not sold dirt cheap second hand in Europe. It'll come. Until then you could buy a Benelli😅. Safe ride!

Well, considering you only done 600 US miles , opps 300 US miles, and have changed the levers, and silencer , you haven't riden this machine long enough to form a valid opinion, as for street cred , ah didums , its on the road ,going along as a bike should , if you're that insecure about other riders opinions, you shouldn't have brought this bike ... The lever problem, presumably there was enough left of the original lever to match up to after market ones , suspect you probably had a lever off a previous bike that would have fitted? As for exhaust, the main one is under the engine, the bit you changed is just the can ,hence little or mo difference in sound . When you have put 5-6 k miles on the bike come back with an opinion, bourn out riding it , then you critisms might be valid. Enjoy.

Hello here in México chinese bikes represent 70 percent of total sales. They are not reliable but you can find all their parts anywhere for very cheap. Even in small towns . So people buy them because they are cheap to buy and cheap to maintain. The only way for cf moto to succeed is to have availability of spare parts for same day purchase. But chinese bikes are not what shou should watch out for. Bikes from india Hero snd Bajaj are so much better for similar prices. They will take over honda some day.

Its not seeing gears properly, sounds like the root of a few of those issues. I've had bikes not see gears right on a honda and on a ktm. It was very rare but it does happen, but it sounds like yours is happening much more often. Most of this sounds like software issues. Newer bike company, so prob expected. The new harley Pan Am had insane issues with theirs for quite a while, and that company is much older, but hadnt done actual tech before that bike really. They did iron it out eventually so im expecting the cf moto stuff to get better with time.

I have the same exact bike. I contacted the seller for my levers and paid a bit extra for the adapter. I am at 7k miles and my nine just now started getting the Reverse Gear Sensor issue, but it is still under warranty. Other than that, I love my little machine.

Have somebody who knows what they're doing do a clutch check and adjustment on it also take the bike to a bike shop that does fabrication and have them make you a new or modified kickstand with a safety catch

I'm not super surprised to hear about weird neutral issues, because I've heard a lot of bikes have had problems with false neutrals in the past.

cf moto started in 1989 with honda tech and now its same as ktm and much of the parts are the same and they are known to be the most reliable china motorcycles. i dont own one but had around 250 bikes in my life.

All bikes should have a snotch that locks the kick stand when the weight of the bike is on it. Harley has this

Dealership sells around 3-4 CFMoto 450MT daily, normally parts take about a week, don’t think that’s brand specific, most places here don’t have ability to where house parts, and have homing kangaroo 🦘 delivered 🚚 Dealership would or given you an induction on the bike and 4 year warranty.
