Also.. how high is the danger, that every Rabbi rejects you if you ask him!? That can lead to anger or hate. I guess there are also a lot of ex-converts who got rejected by Rabbis or communities and think "And whats the use of these Mitzwot if nobody accepts me?" .. Something like that.

@arcz10: I feel that you might be mistaken. Ronen said that his acceptance or non-acceptance of converts has no bearing because G-d happily accepts converts. Whether or not there is any truth to that in different communities is on the people in those communities. If the Torah says that converts should be treated the same as those who were born Jews, then they should be.

Well you've got to support them, there aren't many. The thing is, it's hard for people to understand Judaism, especially those (Like me) who grew up with the idea of Jesus (PBUH) being the Messiah. Therefore, going from thinking a man is the messiah to not believing that he was is complicated.

This is also supported by the fact that Jews (Practicing), are not very keen on calling people to follow their religion. Mimonides mentions in his Mishnah(laws of war and kings), that when a land is under the Israelites, the people in the land can either become Noachides(follow 7 laws of Noah) and this would guarantee them a "portion" in the world to come; but if they wish to "carry the yoke" and become fully Israelites, then they have to go through convrsion and hence becoming full Jews.

The American People’s Encyclopedia for 1954 at 15-292 records the following in reference to the Khazars: “In the year **740 A.D.** the Khazars were officially CONVERTED to Judaism. A century later they were crushed by the incoming Slavic-speaking people & were scattered over central Europe where they were known as JEWS. It is from this grouping that MOST German, Polish & HungarianJews are descended, & they likewise make up a CONSIDERABLE part of that population now found in AMERICA.

A few years ago I took intro courses on Judaism and the Hebrew language at a Reform temple. I noticed within my class there were a few Gentile women married or engaged to Jewish men, studying for the purpose of conversion. But there were no Gentile men. The Rabbi discussed some stories of converts in his congregation, all of which were female. So are there statistically more Gentile women who marry Jewish men or who convert, than Gentile men?

Dear @linkabombs - Jewish Law considers this man you are describing as a Jew, which means he is responsible for all the commands of the Torah, even if he chooses to ignore them. He is acting rather foolishly, in my opinion, because being a Jew means something more than simply talking nonsense - it means that one is responsible to behave morally, and the first command for a Jew is to believe in G-d and one must also pray. If his faith is damaged, he only makes his situation worse for himself.

According to the Torah, the "Laws" were given to the (Children of Israel)...this stems from the fact that God made a covenant with them to follow his commandments. All the prophets who came afterwards to them were (Israelites)..even Jesus peace be upon him was sent to the Israelite "I was only sent to the lost sheep of ISRAEL" Mt 15:24

...(cont'd from previous) The Jewish people is more like a nation or an extended family. There is no such thing as Jewish blood. A convert to the Jewish religion is also adopted into the Jewish people, like one would adopt a baby into a family. There are Asian Jews, African Jews, European Jews, etc.

@Sup Read the Bible, take a Bible basics class, talk to your pastor, learn who Jesus is, etched in secular and Biblical history (which all fits). Jesus changed the world with his teachings. Who is greater than Jesus (a real historical person). Pophecy fulfilled, born from a virgin, lived sinless, performed miracles, did and said things no man could, "I AM", crucified for not denying he's God, dead & buried, rose from death, ascended to heaven. HELLO! Jesus died for the Sin of All Mankind.

He is an adult, and you cannot raise up your adult friends. But tell him how annoyed you feel at his behavior, and ask him to respect your feelings. He causes you pain because you have sensitivity to his stupid comments and if he values your friendship, then he will please not talk about these things in your presence. He needs to fix himself before he can worry about others, and he is not behaving like a Jew when he denies G-d and when he criticises others for believing in Him. Do tell him.

@redsoxfan426 the term traditional is misused. chasidism and modern orthodoxy are both new verisons of judaism that didn't exist 300 yrs ago. we Jews have no interest in any german definiton of what a Jew is. in any case a Chabad is gentile as are all Hasidim.

I understand your frustration with his behavior, but we are not his judge. Our Jewish Law states that he is a Jew, even though his behavior is not Jewish. I realize that this does not seem logical to you. It does not mean that Jews approve of his behavior; we do not approve of how he lives, but we have no control over him. He decides what he will do, and he will have to face the Heavenly court one day. Tell him that Maimonides says that Jews have the duty to believe in G-d. (Mishne Torah)

@Supern Father, Son & Holy Spirit goes from Genesis to Revelations. God has three unique, co-existant eternal natures in ONE. Jesus is the manifestation of God in the flesh, 100% God, 100% Man but the two natures didn't mix. How can God do that? He's God! How do I know? The HOLY BIBLE (including Torah)! Jews were the 1st disciples of Jesus, also a Jew. Why didn't all Jews follow? Read the Bible. Jews are part of God's plan, but salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ. You're not a Jew.

@MuslimahUnity its a supestion about writing the three letters of GOD because there is a thing about not trashing paper that has the word YHVH in hebrew written on it. this got carried over to english. however it doesn't apply to writing on a computer screen so its more of an affectation. its mainly a hasidic (a type of gentile pretending to be Jewish) thing showing that the writer means the "TRUE GOD" and not your lousy fake god. btw YHVH is pronounced yah-weigh though few Jews get the "w".

If someone converts properly to Judaism and keeps the Torah, HaShem loves him even more than a natural born jew.
