Great idea! ☺️ I also thought after watching the video, that we can try laying out the strips of paper in a long row and then apply a long piece of tape over the long paper strip. I guess that could work if the tape is carefully aligned 💕 Thank you for sharing your technique

Hey for anyone out there who doesn't have a coloured printer or want to know an alternate way to make this, you can actually use old magazines and newspapers too! Although mine personally turned out more transparent than theirs did, I used some matte finish tape instead of crystal clear ones so they turned out alright. Hope this helps!

Here’s another diy! Get some paper and draw whatever you want on it ( you can also print ) . Cut out the image / drawing Get some wax or parchment paper. ( if u don’t have parchment or wax paper just get some normal paper and put some vasaline or oil on it and let it dry and you should have some kind transparent wax paper! Put some tape down in the wax or parchment paper to the size of ur image / drawing. Put the drawing over the tape ( make sure it fits ) and then put more tape on top of the image or drawing ( the size of the image or drawing) peel it off and ta- da!!!! You have a beautiful customized sticker! ( forgot to mention to cut the rest of the tape you dont need )

1. genius idea 2. love you designs, you illustrations as beautiful 3. For other ways to transfer your images, do have a look for Letraset products, they do water slide decals, you print like u have and when u soak it in water the backing slides off and leaves a sticky residue allowing u to put it ont your chosen surface. 👍 Still love your idea tho. have u tried printing on rice paper yet? and then using acylic medium to layer that image onto your surface, that makes it melt into the surface as if it was always there.

I actually made it before with transparant ducktapes as a jar namer using water with soup or detergent and it turned out complitely transparant after rubbing the paper off and it was alo sticky enough to stick to the jar perfectly, with nı edges in the air; it might depend on the type of tape and paper but maybe it gives an idea, cuz when you use a cleaner in water it makes you able scrub the paper complitely without ruining the print ❤️

Ah ! Finally ! I'm gonna have washi tap that i actually like ! . One question , is the double sided tape necessary ?
@flaneurthoughts
4 жыл бұрын
Hi, someone left a comment that she need not add the double sided tape as the first tape she used still had the 'stickiness' after soaking in water. If your first tape doesn't have any 'stickiness' left on it --> I noticed that when I removed the part where the back of the double sided tape was stuck on the front part of the washi tape it came off fine and did not damage the washi tape under (so I'm guessing, though not entirely sure) that it would also be fine to remove all the protection of the double sided tape and roll it in place so you won't have to remove the tape under every time you use it. Hope this helps.

They look really pretty. You could probably cut them into the really small strips at the very end rather at the beginning. Would possibly make it easier to soak them in water and rub the back paper off 🤔. Gorgeous though. Cute.

Wow. I am just floored! You should definitely consider ordering this style of washi tapes from a manufacturer and selling them. Maybe you should open an Etsy shop or a shop on a similar platform. Great design! :)

Thank you for leaving such an encouraging comment. I am currently working on my online shop but no washi tapes (yet) - what I currently plan on selling are sticker sheets and die cut stickers that I can make from home. I plan on adding washi tapes once I save enough funds to order from a manufacturer. Thank you so much for the motivation, it really means a lot. 😊❤️

I tried it ! It was pretty! I tried the transparent one and it worked...I wanted to use it for journaling But the double sided tape was soo sticky That I couldn't take it of easily so I tried just dipping the paper in the water and rubbing of the excess and then stick it on the paper. it actually worked fine I even tried taking of the washi tape from the page a couple of times and It still sticked to the pages!

Saw this video yesterday and really enjoyed it - so I had to try it out! :) It worked so well - the glue on my clear tape was actually strong enough to survive the water and I didn't even have to put doublesided tape on it cause it was still sticky!

Unless you want to keep part of the white background, you don't need to wait that long for the sticker/washi print, just wet your prints and scrub in the moment until all the paper gets off, your prints will remain on the tape, and also, to dry it I don't recommend to use paper or fabric, just the wind and maybe try to quit the excess of water passing your finger to reunite water drops and throw them away shacking it, the tape will remain sticky this way. I know what I'm talking about, I usually do my own stickers without sticker paper. But this is an inspiring video, and the final results are as good as if it were bought in a Stationery store, so I think this method is also worth it.
