I'm in the same situation. I have a 2019 Tacoma and I installed the Kicker two way speakers a little over 5 years ago. Well I started having an issue with the driver side speaker cutting out intermittently. I know it's probably the wire connection because when it goes out I give it a little kick and it will cut back in. Lol. Now yesterday the speaker in the passenger door just quit completely. I was thinking of the pioneer speakers because back in the day I used them and they always kicked ass and never a problem. Then again these kicker speakers always rocked as well and sound great. I have the kicker key amp as well as the kicker hideaway subwoofer so I may just keep it all kicker still. More of a plug and play providing the new kickers share the same bracket but who knows. Great video, thanks for sharing! Oh and by the way. I also had a 98 Ranger. Lol.

Kicker is just one of those brands I've never gotten around to trying. I've used Pioneer, Polk Audio, Kenwood, Alpine....and in my first car when I was broke, even Sparkomatic, LOL. My little '98 Ranger has Rockford-Fosgate speakers in the doors and they do really well. I put them in maybe 3 years ago and they haven't been any trouble yet. I had one of their Punch 60 amps in a Firebird back in the early 90's and was always impressed by their build quality so finally got around to trying their speakers.

Good work here. You could easily move into the automotive side of things if you choose. One tip; for connectors that don't want to squeeze and release, take a pocket screwdriver and slip the blade between the male and female ends and press on the latch directly. Nearly every connector will release this way.

So to be clear, the Kicker speakers are fine. It was a wiring failure. Which likely could happen again since the new connector looks just like the old one. The easy solution to this is to cut those crappy push connectors off and solder the wires directly to the tabs.
