I've been using those products on my St. Augustine lawn for 3 years now and have seen a huge difference. I started with horrible clay soil that you could not even get a shovel into when dry. Now, it has loosened up quite a bit and I can tell that I am starting to build topsoil. The grass blades are much greener and wider when I use the humic products, and I also get runners everywhere. It is well worth it in my opinion if you are already doing everything else to maintain a healthy lawn.

I started using the N-ext products last season. Awesome results! I've never had this thick of a lawn in the 17 years that I've lived where I'm at. I also started using carbon-X. I now use Tenacity for weed control. That product is helping to get rid of the "orchard-field grass" and creeping Charlie. Great video. New subscriber here.

@@ShaneHeath Never really used it solo so cant day 100%. I used last year and have a bag for this year. I will start using it more often during the hot summer months by itself when it's time to lay off the heavy fert. I do like it though. Hard to say about any 1 product since I never really do test strips. I have a very small lawn. I believe it's about as dark as I can get it though. I put up a little video up over the weekend. Not to shabby since planting last Sept.

I just subscribed. I’m intrigued with the chicken feed as something different to apply versus Milorganite (since it’s becoming very expensive). What is your spreader settings on your Scott’s spreader? How many LBs per sq ft?
@ShaneHeath
4 жыл бұрын
The feed is not meant to be a replacement for milorganite. Think of it more as a spreadable compost to add organic matter to your soil. I put down 5lbs per sq ft, but because it is not fert, it will not burn so you can throw it down as thick as you want!

Subscribed just because of the channel name. Did you see results with the chicken feed? Did it attract animals?
@ShaneHeath
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And no didn't attract animals, if you water it in after applying you don't have the seed just laying around to attract birds. With results this is a product that you will see results a couple months after applying once it breaks down into soil. But in my latest video with my bermuda front yard I have only applied humic12 rgs and chicken feed and it broke dormancy weeks before the other yards around

Best thing I ever did with my lawn was add organic matter, and lots of it. If you get fall leaves, don't waste those suckers. Invest in a good mower and chop em up. I don't really need to buy much these days in terms of fertilizer because of all the free fertilizer I dump on it. I have access to free compost and sometimes I spread a little of that. All these products probably work, and I get wanting to use them, but the more years I do lawn care, the more I realize that cultural practices are more important than using the next great secret lawn product.
