"the same mouse, same everything, same design, but with an 8000 hz polling rate" , actually they updated the sensor. The sensor is in the top 3 for accuracy. The also reduced the click latency. And even if you can't play some games at 8000 hz, you can often play those games at 2000 Hz. Which is still a 200% improvement in polling.

I believe 8k+ polling rates for gaming mouses are part of the future of gaming etc, however currently it’s not catered for by the vast amount of game engines which are built on older tech developers etc. However, with new engines in development now and going forward, these new technologies will be integrated more into action paced fps titles. Like many things newly adopted, a maturing process is required to achieve its best outcomes.

I agree, 8khz feels absolutely amazing. I would recommend buying an 8khz mouse in 2023 though, in most games that i play it works without much performance impact. In some games i had to turn it down to 4khz. 4khz still feels a lot better than 1khz so buying a high polling rate mouse for those games is still worth it imo. But at the end of the day I don't really care if 8khz works or doesn't work in most games as long as it works in my main game diabotical. In that game 8khz works even with 30000 DPI with no performance impact. And the game also supports framerate independent inputs to make full use of the 8khz. The engine of that game is incredible. I can't wait for the new games from the 2gd studio because while diabotical is still by far the most fun shooter out there i feel like player numbers are slowly declining.

I'm no export on this, but could the problem be that you are flooding the OS with interrupts? I believe it works something like this: When you make a mouse movement (or give input from some other peripheral device) it signals the pc which causes a hardware interrupt. The interrupt must be handled by an ISR "interrupt service routine" in the operating system and by the kernel mode driver for the device. The OS will for some short time do context-switch from what else it is doing to handle these interrupts. I believe windows has a fixed range of times it stops its normal processing per second in order to check for hardware interrupts, i believe its around 10ms (0.01sec) per check for interrupts. If the device for some reason cant process the interrupt right away a DPC "deferred procedure call" is issued. All other real-time audio/video/games must wait to continue and drop out frames/samples before this DPC is handled, which can lead to DPC latency that consumes relevant CPU time (CPU is waiting to continue processing the game, speed of cpu doesnt affect this as it still have to wait) Some googling suggest you can check this with latencymon, any has this mouse and can check this? So maybe its a driver issue? Or maybe you are flooding the OS with interrupts at 8000hz?

So where is the problem? When you set it on 2000 or 4000, every game will work and it is a better faster input than the normal 1000 polling. This is a bad review. 8k is the future and a good invention. And you can set it down in seconds for every game what it is not easy to handle it. Or when your computer is not fast enough for it. That’s the last point. On better computers aren’t the problems what you have. It’s not only the game. It’s every part of your computer and to much different driver softwares what can do this. I'm noticing for web, with javascript events, that it can't deal with 8K hz. It will just make up false 500+ pixel deltaX numbers fairly often.

no such problem on my intel 7th i7/ intel 12th i7, 1070 gpu and rtx3080 gpu, work perfectly fine. Good mouse. Btw am using it on usb3.0 port, not sure is that the reason.

well this problem issend any more, for cs en apex at least, have the 8khz mouse en works realy good now day's. but to note, i had the problemes biginning this year but a copple monts later it was fixed en works good on 8000hz poelingrate. the only issue is that synaps can give you micro stutters in my experience in apex but also in some other games by other people

I have 2kHz mouse and it works without issues. It uses a bit more CPU for sure, but I never had issues because of it. To me, this sounds more like garbage mouses or there is something wrong with your system. Since you have ryzen, I have issues on both of my ryzen systems with USB when fTPM (AMDs TPM implementation) is enabled. fTPM is on by default in recent BIOS versions because it is win11 requirement.

The issue is YOUR system not the mouse. This video is NOT accurate at all. Should be taken down as is misleading and just wrong CSGO, Warzone play perfectly..but I am not gaming on a C64... I see none of that crap you are showing here

looks like a processing issue. A better PC and the proper drivers should eliminate this issue, but I guess we just aren't there yet for the main consumer base. Total bummer too as I was thinking of getting an 8k mouse.

WTF is the best thing to get now adays... is the best solution to just go back to 60hz screen and a 500hz mouse? I don't get it.. why is this so fu.ing hard. Why can't I just throw money at this problem?

nice, someone with reputation finally said the viper 8k is superior for gaming, hopefully 8k will be mainstream soon. after playing overwatch for many months with the 8k, trying 1000hz mice felt laggy. you might not notice the improvement at first, because it's subtle, but honestly i can't go back to 1k

Totally agree. I play at a very high level in COD and Battlefront. I noticed improvements with the Viper 8K, and I am VERY happy with it. No way I would ever downgrade to a 1000 Hz mouse.

With discord closed, all recording software closed, and driver only install on my GPU drivers (no software) I can run apex 8k. Also CS:S and CSGO I have no issues with 8k even with discord going. Never had an issue with mw2019 nor warzone neither. With apex if I had discord going with recording software I'd have to drop to 2k, sometimes 4k would be fine on a good day for some reason. It really does depend on cpu. When I move my mouse all over the place on just the desktop I can usually make it top out around 23-25%. 5600x and rx 6800 with 32gb 3666mhz cl14 ram. If you have a 5800x3d or 5900x or 7900x I'd imagine the problems would be less.
