Ugh! I’m so sorry that you had this problem! I was hoping that the new versions were fixed. Sounds like they’re either not fixed or the problem is random and they’re not QC’ing the products off the assembly line before they ship to customers. Do you know if the jitters are happening in the HeadONE or the SliderONE or both? Also glad to hear that you were able to get 3 HeadONE’s. That also confirms that they’re prioritizing new customers and various marketing efforts like giving free gear to KZitem “influencers” ahead of fulfilling promises to past customers. It’s now July and I still haven’t gotten my HeadONE replacements. I recently emailed them for an update and they told me that they couldn’t give me a timeline, but my application was being “prioritized”. I’m so glad to hear your customer service experience sounds better than mine! Responsive customer service is VERY important especially for products that cost as much as theirs. Let me know how it goes!

Oddly, you've convinced me to buy a HeadONE, because your facts tell me a story of a company upgrading and updating its designs and ultimately taking care of you as a customer, just not as quickly or as "fill-in-the-blank"-ly as you wanted. From experience: updating products is unavoidable, and recent purchasers of the last model will inevitably be caught in the crossfire of their random unfortunate timing. Shipping and distribution delays are always a part of new launches too, and every bit as stressful for the company personnel as for you. You sound reasonable (you're not asking for crazy things) and also unpleasable (getting unfixably displeased over factors ultimately beyond any person's or company's control, aka "life", compounded by regret over choices you own in word but not in spirit). That's a tough position to be in and an equally tough one for a customer support team to deal with. I get it, I've been there, still go there. But seeing it from the outside, weirdly, is comforting, reminds me of where my priorities need to be. 😊

Hey thanks for the comment. I've been meaning to make an update to this video for over a year now. I can confirm that the HeadONE is indeed better than the version that I mention in this video. As they've been updating a lot of their products over the last year, if you can, I would wait until they update the HeadONE. I'd hate for you to spend all that money and then they come out with an update shortly thereafter. I'm not sure what their return policy is now or if they still allow for updates on products. It's funny...when I made this video...I didn't think I would be hitting a nerve with some people nor did I foresee that I would be getting as much disdain as I've gotten. There are DEFINITELY some Edelkrone fanboys out there. The idea and marketing of their product outweighs reality, ESPECIALLY with the cost associated. I really want to love their products, but sometimes the first impression is the lasting impression.

I was an early user of their line of products. I spent thousands on their gear. I kept getting fooled. Their original motorized slider kit that involved so many separately purchased parts, including whichever version of their slider you go with. I went with their biggest one. The slider is a great concept but if you had it mounted on a tripod, even the one I had with a HUGE video head, still lilted on either end of the slide. Then the motors on the slider control units, pre-app driven models, were SO F'n LOUD. I tried to use it in an interview shoot and had to set the entire rig so far back and use a long lens due to how loud it was and it was still so loud that it was distracting the interview. After spending thousands building that kit I fell for their next gen and had nothing but problems to the point that I literally never got to use it. I went back and forth with them for months where they tried to blame everything from user error to each component of their system, sending me replacements for each one at a time. And when I finally got a cohesive unit it was still trash, still loud (though nowhere near as loud as that first gen) and unbelievably inaccurate, bumpy, glitchy, I don't get how anyone uses their stuff. I also have a bunch of their other non-motorized products like the Wing, the quick release mount, flex tilt head and some other stuff. All of which is well made but heavy and something I generally choose not to include in my kit for that reason.

So I've been meaning to make an update to this video for over a year now. Edelkrone has seen this video, and there are now other videos critical of their products from bigger KZitem channels which gives validation to my video. They reached out to me last year and sent me a package of products which is kind of funny because shortly after I received the products, they updated the very products that they sent me, so they basically sent me out of date products. That being said, the products overall worked a lot better than the version in this video and are a LOT quieter, but as you mentioned, still not perfectly silent for an interview setting ESPECIALLY if system is close to the interview subject. But still probably one of my biggest issues is setup time as well as the support systems that you need to have for very heavy camera systems. The HeadPLUS is supposed to be designed for heavier camera systems and according to their website, it can go on the SliderONE system...but in reality...the payload is so heavy, it looks like it's going to break the SliderONE when it's at its furthest point on the slider. I have to put 35lb sand bags on each of the legs of my tripod just to make sure the whole system doesn't fall over. If you put the SliderONE on the ground, the moment you attach the HeadPLUS even without a camera on it, it's still too heavy and throws the balance off and the whole thing falls over. I really need to make this follow up video. The biggest issues that I have with Edelkrone is their marketing doesn't match reality, and their customer service is not on par with what you'd expect when paying so much for their products.

@@beMOTIONdESIGN Thank you, I appreciate your replying. I have been thinking about it all over again since I came across your video and I am thoroughly disgusted with Edelkrone and myself for falling for their pitch a second time. When they released the second version of their motorized motion kit that attaches to their Slider Plus system, they literally claimed it to be whisper quiet. And after dumping something like $4000CDN on the original set up that I couldn't use I fell for it. I'm usually more shrewd than that, but I also blame the obviously paid for "reviews". I'm glad I didn't fall for it a third or fourth time when they came out with things like SliderOne or the other things, though I did fall for the Wing and totally missed their fine print that it wasn't motorized. It's not just the loudness, it's that their products do not perform. There is ALWAYS a little hiccup in a shot, that little bump in the movement that can only be blamed on the hardware. I've used manual sliders for decades and though you can't perform a lot of the fancier moves that you'd like without motorization and programming I can at least get a shot without it looking like my cat jumped on the table while I was shooting. The focus motor was the biggest frustration, and that's after my months of back and forth with them sending me replacement components that didn't address my clearly outlined concerns. I mean, they asked me to make videos showing them the problems I was having and when I'd show them and suggest that it was (whatever they called the module that controlled the camera rotation, I believe they called it the 'head module') they would send me a new Motion Module (I think that was their name for it). But the focus motor never kept focus even with cinema lenses that have hard stops. I'm sorry for ranting, I'm just so jaded that I spent a lot of money for items that were unusable and have been sitting on a shelf for years and I can't bring myself to throw them out and the company will never give me my money back for. Oh, last thing. When I received the delivery of the second gen kit I actually started shooting an unboxing video. Not something I'd ever done or wanted to get into but I was really excited because they did a really good job of promoting it. I don't think I kept the footage out of sheer disgust but it was hilarious as I proceeded to film myself opening and talking about how much I enjoy companies like Edelkrone, DJI, Peak Design and even Apple, who, over the years have shown that their packaging is almost part of their product. I was excited to get their new and first app driven system up and running. I unboxed, balanced and put it all together and nothing worked. Right out of the box one of the modules (If I remember correctly it was the motion module) was DOA. That started the first of many attempts to rectify it with them and this is after having multiple go-rounds with the first gen. Anyway, I'm out. I think I'm going to go post some of my hurt feelings on some of the clearly shilling for Edelkrone KZitemrs and warn people off their products.

You need to change your title to reflect that you are reviewing the "HeadONE" product, NOT the "HeadPlus." I too had the HeadOne dual setup with tilt kit recently and had to send it back. I was getting VERY bad jitters and shakes with my telephoto and macro footage. Unless you are using a wide angle lens with such a setup, you'll experience the same thing. A tech support person acknowledged this issue to me, and said the HeadPlus was better at telephoto and macro work. So, I sent my HeadOne system back for the upgrade. It comes in on Monday, so hopefully I will be able to report back with better news.

@@beMOTIONdESIGN This wasn't a typical upgrade. I just asked to get the more expensive HeadPlus instead of the two HeadOnes with the bracket. I agree that the HeadOne combination is a JOKE! Shakes like crazy. Not smooth AT ALL. The HeadPlus is definitely much better, but it still jerks at the end and beginning of each run (though much less). Also, when tilting, it jerks once the tilt stops and starts into the other direction! This is so pathetic. I'm keeping the upgraded system though because of the price and the fact that it will work for what I needed it for. Just barely though. I do have to say that the build quality on everything they sell is second to none. They just need to fix these motor issues in their heads! On another note, I do have to say that the support folks are VERY helpful at Edelkrone and not once gave me any problems with this exchange. I really appreciate that. Working much better, however the units have been back for repair about 3 times, twice for the head ones and the slider just came back today so its frustrating but I've had them too long im living with it. @beMOTIONdESIGN

I 100% agree with that statement...it's a love hate relationship for sure! When it works...the footage is banging! I did this video recently with the SliderPLUS with the Slide Module and 2 HeadONEs: kzitem.info/news/bejne/rn1pnqdvm2Jinn4 And it turned out really good and I'm really happy with the footage...but it was REALLY annoying getting things setup because there was a firmware update that needed to happen on all the products and it kept crashing during the update, and once the updates finally happened...the items didn't want to pair via bluetooth, so it took about an hour before I could actually start shooting. In this short film (kzitem.info/news/bejne/2Hyc1WaQboFmf4Y), I used the SliderPLUS with slide module as well the HeadPLUS and it was a pain in the butt getting stuff set up and once everything is loaded up, it's SUPER heavy and the tripod needs to be weighted down with sandbags, so it is NOT ideal for location shooting especially when you're by yourself. I have an update video coming soon that talks about all this stuff. Subscribe and stay tuned.

@@beMOTIONdESIGN agree on all those points too I think because its my first proper system I'm working with it and in the beginning I did doubt myself but over time a few things have griped me but my shooting style changed and I'm not using automated tilt shots so stuck with the pan and slide and now that I've automated the focus pulling I'm happy. I think they are about 80% there if they could make them quieter, smoother and tweak the app so that its more reliable and dont force the update then things would be better. A couple years ago they sent me a package of products (which I was going to do an update video on, but have yet to do so), but I came to discover is that the products that they sent me were older generations and not the current generation of products that they had just came out with. Not a very good look for a company who was trying to get me on their side and recommend their products. I just recently pulled out the SliderONE and the HeadPLUS to shoot some footage of my son building some LEGO sets he got for Christmas and one of my biggest frustrations is that the Bluetooth connection is not stable...it's intermittent and unreliable. The other thing too...the HeadPLUS is MASSIVE and heavy, so by the time you put a camera on and all the other accessories, the unit itself is EXTREMELY heavy, and then when you put it on the SliderONE fixed to a tripod...the slider bends if you go out too far. The DollyONE is the only product I enjoy using (although I haven't tried the Jib products and likely never will). Can you try out the Trexo wheels and return it if it doesn't work? I think your English is just fine! I totally agree! The price of the products is ridiculous especially with products that are not as good as they’re advertised. I wish they’d spend more money on making a good product or better customer service than marketing or paying KZitemrs to give them positive reviews. I actually lose respect for those KZitemrs who give positive reviews on Edelkrone products. But I met one last year who didn’t have the same problems I have and loved his products. So that leads me to believe that their is no quality control at Edelkrone. Again...for a product as expensive as it is...that’s not good. I hear the Rhino Arc 2 is really good. I’ll look into your suggestion. Thanks again for your comment! Definitely let me know if you have any other questions!

The DollyOne doenst work with HeadPlus like advertised on edelkrone homepage. Headplus is toooooooooooo heavy
@beMOTIONdESIGN

I didn't even realize that they advertised the HeadPLUS working on the DollyONE, but yes...it's WAY too heavy to work on the DollyONE...in fact...anything other than the camera and the HeadTILT is too much weight. And even with the HeadTILT you're limited in the way that you can use it, because it becomes unbalanced VERY easy. I'm working on a follow up video for February where I'll be talking about a lot of this stuff. Stay tuned!

Thank you soooo much for the kind words! I always appreciate knowing that something like this has helped (or could help) someone. I did finally get the replacements back in September (almost 10 months after being told that I was getting them), but due to work, I have been unable to full test them, but I'm hoping to do so this coming week and have an update video on the channel in January, so subscribe or come back to the channel in January to check.

Any new recommendations? I want to buy this expensive Slider, but i am nervous when i read about jitters und see it in this Review :O in other Previews and Videos i saw no Jitter Problems. This price, i think its not okey. I am uncertain. Konova is my alternative, but have no forward movement outside the rails.

I wish I could give you a clear answer. I have personally not tried the slider, and I refuse to fork over the money to buy it and try it out. I have had some people contact me and tell me that the slider is not steady especially when using a macro or long lenses. But I just met a guy on Monday, who loves the slider and says its super smooth. It took them almost a year to send me the upgraded HeadOne, and I haven't had a chance to test it out to see if the issues that I was having with the MotionBox have been fixed. I'm not sure if Edelkrone has changed their return policy or not, but if they haven't, you have 90 days to return the product...no questions asked. I think you just have to pay for shipping (not sure about that). With that said, maybe you can buy the slider, test it out immediately, and if it's crap and doesn't work as promised, send it back before the 90 days. If you do go this route, definitely let me know how it goes because it's sounding more and more like their products are hit or miss...sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Otherwise, Rhino has a solid slider! There's a link above in the description.

@@beMOTIONdESIGN Thank you! SliderOne is to short for me. Want the long Version from SliderPlus and one of HeadOne. I'm wondering if the old Head, it's better than HeadOne ?? The older "Slide Module v2" called "Action Module". The older "HeadOne" called "Target Modul". It would be interesting to know if the newer one is really much better? You tested the newer HeadOne, maybe the older is smoother :D We have a reseller in Germany. And he gives 30 days return. Maybe i try it :)

It's funny that the problems you've had with Edelkrone are parallel to me and my video that is 12 months later - so clearly Edelkrone have not improved. It's a shame as the App is excellent and the products are not too loud (the SliderONE V2 and HeadONE), but their customer service and attitude are terrible. It's their loss as if the SliderONE V2, HeadONE and FlexTilt Head 2 worked well, I was going to buy their bigger packages including the new JibONE (for thousands of dollars). But now I tell people to avoid them as their products are not as advertised. Your notes on the FlextTilt Head 2 are spot on by the way! I wish I wrote those down for my video! Thanks for watching btw! Oh, finally, maybe update the title of your video. You are talking about the HeadONE not the HeadPlus. Otherwise your comments are all true and valid - fanboys must be thumbing you down - well I've thumbed you up!

Thanks for an honest review and not a paid influencer review. It appears I will not buy from them and they lost a 5k sale for poor products and no telephone support. What kind of shady business model is that? I guess the one that care about Money then their customers.

@@beMOTIONdESIGN Thank you! My problem was I never checked when I received. I just got familiar with it with out camera then brought it on a trip. It completely failed me on that trip and my schedule as such did not allow me to investigate. It looked legit so I though it was me. When I got back put it in the box due to in activity during Covid and never checked what was wrong. Finally when I did it was too late to send back. I was STUPID. I was riding on all the good reviews before i purchased it that completely skewed my thought process. Now I have a bunch of nice looking metal, and nice boxes. They sort of market themselves like the Apple of motion control systems. 1K down the drain. I am too honest and take great integrity in my work. I have to keep the system. Thanks for stopping by the channel and taking the time to watch the video and comment, but I’m bummed that you’re kind of calling me a cry baby not because it hurts my feelings but because I obviously didn’t do a good job of communicating my message and I apologize for that! I chalk it up to being my first review which is not an excuse, but my way of saying that I’m learning and I don’t take it lightly that you invested time in watching my video and weren’t happy with the outcome. In saying all of this, I stand by the intent of the message. The products did not work as advertised, and I returned one of them. The only reason I didn’t return everything was the promised upgrade, and had I known at the outset that it was going to take almost a year to get the upgrade, I would’ve returned everything. I was promised the upgrade in November 2018 and didn’t actually receive the upgrade until September 2019. After posting this video back in May, I discovered that Edelkrone had been sponsoring KZitem reviews via “influencers” and sending gear to them free of charge, prioritizing these non-paying “influencers” over actual paying customers, and that’s not right. I made the video with the hope that I could help others make a more informed decision before they spend a huge amount of money on a company that I now know doesn’t prioritize paying customers over non-paying “Influencers” and that also doesn’t seem to care too much about quality assurance because some people get products that work and others don’t. I hope it’s not the last time that you come to the channel, and let me know if there’s anything I can help you with. All the best, Ben

Holy cow, for the amount of money they charge for their products there is simply no excuse for any of this. That noise is INSANE, and the jittery start up? Even a cheap GVM sub-$400 motorized slider is quiet and has almost no jitters.
@beMOTIONdESIGN

Wholeheartedly agree. I’ve heard from others who are having similar or worse issues. I went to go shoot some stuff the other day, and I couldn’t. When I started setting up the gear I noticed that the 1/4 inch to 3/8 in and the 3/8 in to 1/4 adapter screws were missing and I immediately got frustrated all over again. That’s not their fault per se, but it’s the little design flaw things that aggravate me and make me wish I would’ve returned them immediately. Also...it’s been almost a year and I still have to to receive my upgraded products.

I got a gvm one (they sent me the wrong size so I sent it back) and was smoother and quieter than anything from real edelkrone buyers reviews (not sponsored/sent free units/affiliate link reviews). Actually even some of those paid reviews actually had bumpy jittery footage
