@@bryanmiller476 Exactly. There's a reason why a plumber or electrician charge such a high hourly rate for work -- because they have to pay their own overhead. If you're an independent contractor, you need to be charging at bare minimum $30/hr for your work, and probably a lot more.
@orlock20

@@bryanmiller476 The Federal Fed Ex ruling states that these Uber drivers are actually employees of the Umber. Fed Ex was trying to say that that some big rig truck drivers were not Fed Ex employees, but since they were getting paid by Fed Ex and follow all the rules of Fed Ex as if they were an employee, the judge ruled that the drivers were employees of Fed Ex and not sub contractors. For these drivers to not be considered employees, the drivers would be able to charge their own rates and be paid directly by the customer while the driver then gives a cut to Uber. What is happening is the other way around so therefore they are Uber employees.

Tipping is not the job passing the buck to the people.. its the people showing gratuity for a service that was done for them so they dont have to... If you dont understand that, your moral compass is broke.. If i save you 2 hours of your day by bringing you 300 dollars in groceries.. that is about 4 totes full, without you having to leave your house... then you should probably want to tip your driver... Lord knows i would.. and I do.. I use the service myself and tip well.. it saves me time, effort, and allows me to get other things done. Yes im gonna show my gratitude by throwing my driver 8 to 10 dollars.. its its nothing compared to the 200 i just spent on groceries. And even if its one shake from McDonald's... if the ticket is just 5 bucks.. i have no problem giving my driver 10 or 15 just because it was conveniently brought to me. I know right? I just don't understand why America doesn't enforce minimum wage for restaurants and services like Uber. What's the point of a MINIMUM wage if you can't enforce it equally for all industries? If a business needs to drive up prices to stay out of the red, then by all means do so if that means paying your employees properly. Of course, you'll lose some potential customers but an equilibrium can always be found. And if the company (e.g., Uber) still goes out of business, then that only means there isn't enough demand for that service (w/ proper pricing) in the first place!

Tips are a big factor in delivery. One thing that you can do to increase your tips is to screen the restaurants you accept deliveries from. If you download and use the ubereats customer app, you'll see Uber ranks restaurants based on how expensive they are. The more $ signs a restaurant has by it, the more it cost. In my experience, people tip much more often if the order is coming from a restaurant with at least 2 $ signs.

This is like any other business. You have to determine your sweet spot where you have more customers and more sellers. Driving 30 min for pick up is poor business strategy, too slow as well (3.4 miles should take 10 min max not 30, or else you're in the wrong city for Uber). And yes, going into mall food courts is bad strategy too. I've figured those out my first week and I've been doing $190-200/day since, full time, excluding weekends. I don't stop for lunch. I take sandwich and water from home and eat while driving, when I'm hungry. If I want coffee, I don't do any drive through when there's a line up. It's quicker to park and go inside to grab it quick and get back in the car. You have to be analytical. Everyone has to make money. U gotta figure out shortcuts. Otherwise work for a boss or two or more, who will give you instruction as well as their s**t from 9-5, or longer...

If you do that I recommend a national of local Pizza chain as you noticed they tip for Pizza plus you work out one store and the same and area, but you still have the same expenses. When I did it, I got minimum wage for my time. I clocked in at the restaurant and you get the tips, so you could easily make a lot more. The down side you are a employee of that company so if they need you to take out trash or wash dishes you will have to do it. So keep that in mind. But I preferred doing that over working at the local burger place you get some independence when your in your own vehicle. Your not going to get a tip at a ff restaurant normally. And it beats being a waiter as far as I am concerned. One way is to be busy, to fold pizza boxes all the time and let some else do the trash if you can or be out delivering, you a driver you don't want to be washing dishes or taking out trash, drivers get tips that what you signed up for. On the road you make money and can enjoy the evening much better than being the restaurant . Sure you have to do that stuff but I rather be delivering pizza then taking put trash

@@kjsupreme4680 Interesting. When I 1st started uber eats (sept2018) they showed the pickup and drop off. Shortly after they only showed the pickup location.. I had 3 cancellations on fri, another 3 on sat.. That got me a 'final notice'. The following thurs I had 1 wrong address and even though I followed protocol when cancelling all my orders, ever, (ie calling the customer, hitting the button, waiting the (5 minutes at 1st, which became 7minutes)., getting the confirm message that I still got paid and that nothing would effect my ratings etc).. but that obviously wasnt true.. I even got a support message a day later about the order that got me fired, confirming that the customer sent me to their old address and that no action would be taken.. yet I was still fired, and no-one on the support line can help you. They directed me to a 'special team' that can only be contacted by e-mail, and my appeal was 'denied due to all the 'fraud' on my account".. but its the 'fraud' that I'm appealing!! All someone has to do is check my routes and they'll see I went to every location and followed protocol when cancelling!.. If you get a final notice on your account, call support for all orders that need to be canceled. No, you are lying! If it was a$15 service fee he would get paid about $11 or $12 of that money. I drive for Uber and also use Uber eats. The further away the restaurant is the more it usually cost you. Secondly he was logged in for 12 hours but only drove about 3 hours. He used $30 worth of gas and made $91, he just tripled his money in a day. So if he drove let's say 5 days a week and made $90 to $100 a day, $500 for the week. $30 a day in gas is $150 a week. So if I invested $150 into something and made $500 in return and only worked a average of 3-4 hours a day I think I did pretty good. I put $15 into my Impala and drive to Chicago and make $150 on average. Weekends I can make $400 alone with $30-$40 worth of gas. I only drive part time also.

I have done both uber eats and doordash. Doordash pays much better and tips are included which makes a huge difference. Doosdash minimum for delivery is never less that $6.00 and for me as high as $16.04 and $18.51 for 1 delivery. You do have to do a bit more work sometimes but not often, like order the food etc. (easy to do stuff.) When you get the ping with DD it gives you 90 seconds to accept. Shows you the map with miles from where you are, to pick up food and drop it off. Also shows you the minimum $ guaranteed for the delivery all b4 you accept. Not like uber eats. You find out after you deliver how much it paid and it's very low. And too few people tip with uber eats. Cheap people ..$2-$5 tips add up. This guy I delivered groceries to from Walmart tipped me $10 cash plus the delivery guarantee was $8.51. That's $18.51 for something that took 15 minutes and about 5 miles total driving and I unloaded groceries to an awesome man in a wheel chair. It was a win win for him and I.

Well it's not always a busy shift for me. Let me make that clear. There are good times and slow times. Not all my deliveries pay me as high as I said. Average is $6-$9 but that's 2-3 times higher than what uber eats pays per delivery. usually can get in 2-3 deliveries per hour unless it's slowww. I work the Orlando area/zone of UCF or Winter Park/Altamonte Springs. I noticed it's much busier on Friday and Saturday nights in the UCF zone and probably most zones than during weekday breakfast and lunch times. Dinner time is when the bigger orders are placed which means higher $ per delivery. Every city/area will be different. You will learn your area/zones within a few weeks. Also driving a smaller car is ideal. SUV's eat up too much gas and will eat up your profits. I drive a Ford Fusion. The 4 cylinder not the V6.

This was one of the best reviews I've seen. I also started doing Uber Eats about 2 weeks ago to supplement income. I also work a full time job and do freelance videography. After 20+ trips I realized you're better off just getting a part time job at a Starbucks or McDonalds. No wear and tear on your vehicle and the hourly wage will still be higher. Only way I see making money off Uber Eats is if you drive a hybrid car and get monster gas mileage. Otherwise you can't make decent earnings. With that said, Uber Eats can be fun and it's a good way just to get out of the house for a nice drive. I say it's more for people who are between jobs or stay at home mom's or dad's.

UberEats also charges a 15-25% markup on all the food ordered. For instance if you order a Big Mac Meal from McDonalds AT the store, it's $6.89. Thru UberEats, it's $8.29 - a $1.40 (20%) markup. THEN they charge a delivery fee on top of that (which varies based on distance traveled). Most people probably think the delivery/booking fee IS the tip, and that UberEats makes its money just from the markup. By the time you add a 20% tip to the total, you're spending $15+ or more just for the delivery; for that money, I'll go get it my damn self. :)

@@mrexclusive5406 Good name for you. I live in a decent market so I actually do make bank. I do passengers mostly. I do a little food delivery. I do work on TV and movies but we have a lot of in between time before a new show turns up. Uber pays as much as my "day job". And in many ways its just about as satisfying and fun.

for costumers only; please tip the driver, think about it. in a trip of 10 miles they got approximately 12.00 dlls for time . this is what happens if they got lucky , they will ended their delivery into a busy area other-ways they have to go back to a busy area, other than that they will spend almost 4 dollars in gas, that's the minimum depending on their vehicles ;... what are we getting in exchange for what we pay for their services is: we don t get into traffic, that's a plus coming back to out place, we don wait in the restaurant, we don t deal with employees, we don t spend our very value time with family or friends or maybe we don t drive most important we are avoiding getting infected of vivid 19. so how valuable is this for you, honestly people even complain cause the delay in your order,they believe that their 2 dlls tip will motivate the driver to do the delivery asap, if we are NOT IN CONDITIONS TO TRAVEL. SO PLEASE CONSIDER THIS PEOPLE, THIS COMPANY'S DON T PAY To this drivers enough , so please don't pretend t THAT WE ARE PAYING FOR A GREAT SERVICE. TEENAGERS WILL DO THE JOB AND ACCEPT WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR, BUT THE SERVICE, WILL BE OR RESULT VERY Unsatisfactory. BUT IS BETTER TO AVOID THAT by giving them a good tip. This will motivate drivers to take conscience in what they're doing. and avoid the possibility that THIS GUYS GET INTO YOUR FOOD, SO IS up TU YOU TO VALUE WHAT THIS PEOPLE ARE DOING FOR F0R YOU, i know many of them doing this full time so far they take this job very serius

I agree, I personally decided to tip well when I order food from those apps, and in general to tip well. I also recommend for others to do so. If you can't afford to tip well, don't go eat out.

I appreciate you making this video. I'm tired of people coming up to me telling me they made $500 in three days working ubereats. The best week I had for UberEat's was $370 in 16 hours. And that was in season. What you have on this video is pretty much what I've been experiencing for the last few weeks. My town is seasonal. And when season hits, the out-of-town people tip very good. But when season is gone, the locals don't tip that well at all. I've been getting many $1 to dollar and $3 tips. In the summer, where I live, hours get cut for many jobs not just limited to delivery. Also, when you do delivery in the summer, people tip less or don't tip it all. Thank you for making this video. I'm going to like the video and subscribe to your Channel.

In my country we don't tip for anything or anyone. It's included in the salary. If corporations would pay Americans a livable wage, no tipping would be needed.
