Do Not Fear.
During these times, fear may be one of many emotions that we are feeling. God has put on our hearts to share these Words from the Bible with you…to put your trust in God and that He will get you through this. (“I called on your name, Lord, from the depths of the pit…You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.”…“Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”) (From Lamentations 3:55-57 and Isaiah 35:3-4 (NIV).)
And from Joshua 1:9,
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
The photos are from the Wadi Qelt, a valley that runs east-to-west across the Judean desert, roughly from Jerusalem to Jericho that some have envisioned it as the location of the Valley of the Shadow of Death in Psalm 23.
It is the location of the Monastery of St. George of Koziba (St. George's Monastery) that was built onto the slide of a cliff, and to Salon Al Yisrael Synagogue, one of the oldest synagogues in the world. The Roman Road runs through Wadi Qelt and this was the road that is the setting for the Parable of the Good Samaritan.
Psalm 23 (ESV)
The LORD Is My Shepherd
A Psalm of David.
23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
