Yeah, this video is BS and people who don't understand that *light* and *pigment* are opposites- combining primary (RGB) light shines white, primary pigment (magenta, cyan, and yellow) would make gray. However they added white, and high opacity white paint would tint the grey muck very light. The colored paints are already mostly white. I think people who haven't worked with paint have no idea how little white you need to substantially lighten most paint colors. If you go to a paint shop and watch them mix a color, you'll see that they will usually start out with a can of pure white and then add concentrated pigments to get colors like these. Color theory is amazing so it's sad people need to make up crap for views instead of sharing fascinating truths...

It made grey, not white. This was only possible because they mixed lots of white in and some premixed paint colours that had white in them like the pink they used. If you mixed all the primary and secondary colours in equal amounts you would get a neutral brown, if all of the others are neutral reds, greens etc. This applies to just primary as well. The only way to get grey is to reduce the saturation with black or white, as these are shades, not colours. If you get colours other than brown or grey (when white or black is mixed in) then the proportion of colours is skewed to one side. Ie if you mix more red in than the other colours, you will probably end up with maroon.

It's because the base, which is still white. If you just mix the coloring, you'd get dark colour, either black, brown, or inbetween them.

Actually, mixing all the colors and their shades brings it back to white. I remember making a simple science project in secondary school, which is coloring every part of the wheel 🛞 with the several main colors and then spin it as fast as you could, then you will notice for a sec that you are seeing the color white 🤍 but there in this video the proportions weren't that accurate so it looked kinda gray. In general when we see white it means that we are seeing the reflection of a mixture of all the shades of aaaaallll colors, and black is when the light doesn't reflect back to our eyes, which means that black is kinda nothing. Or at least this is what i understood in school.🤷
