I had a dryer bin put up 25 years ago. The bottom of the transition was just gummed up. Which failed in 6 years. It was 3x the work to fix later. All that was needed was a 4” 3’ long of galvanized bent 90 degrees, maybe 10 bolts, some goop. So easy to put in before heater, fan put in.

Anyone who has no mistakes certainly has never farmed at all. Growing up on the farm and much of it with my family was some of the greatest days of my life. Seeing you investing your time in Cooper and Cole is one that will pray dividends long after you are gone. Planning on doing this in your grandchildren is also another investment that will give rewards for many years to come. I appreciate you and enjoy watching because I am reminded that someone invested in me as you are doing. Summer I sure do miss seeing your beautiful smiling face and your input here was refreshing to us. Thank you and may God forever bless you. Paul Harvey tells a story about the farmer and the Lord and it is very powerful for without Him no-one can do anything that will profit. Always keep Him as the center of all you do and you will be a success.

Oh DC, you're so right about younger people entering farming. I worked with the Federal Government back in the 1980's. One farmer had just graduated from ISU. He was the first in 2 counties to have a computer, and use it for his farming. No one had hesrd of going to college for farming and a computer! We didn't have a computer yet! You are so right about going with your gut feeling. This man is nearly 70, he's still farming, and most of his children are on his farm and theirs or married to a farmer. ❤😊

Outstanding DC, one of your best videos ever. I really miss the farm life, I grew up on a 10,000 acre farm in NB, Canada. That's the East Coast of Canada. I'm 18th generation Canada and my 18th Great Grandpa was given the very few land grant in what was then called "lower Canada". Unfortunately over the last 50 years the farm has dwindled down to a 700 acres, still a big farm but nothing like what we once had. I started watching Coles Channel when he was just out of college I have sure enjoyed getting to know the whole family and most especially have enjoyed all the farming content. I am so glad you started your own channel, Hi to Summer she is missed but i sure understand her decision to just go in a different direction. It would seem that you are all quite naturals in front of the camera :)

Just to share that my career path here in Ontario started out in farming (growing up in it) after graduating from an Ag College in 1980 thought farming would be my choose career path then by the mid 80s with high interest at the time I ended up pivoting to another career in Agriculture that led me to my current position as an IT Project Manager. I just celebrated 40 years (in July) working in my career path since having to unexpectedly change from what I really in my heart wanted to do. I do enjoy what I am doing today - have yet to retire from it - maybe in a year's time. All the best in your farming career with working with your sons. As they say the best is yet to come!

One of my jobs was a safety inspector. I got paid to imagine the worst case scenario of every situation. One kid in our plant with long hair leaned over to make sure the drill on the drill press was going to hit the right spot and his hair got rapped around the drill. [He lived, but it was not pretty.] Since then, machinery and long hair have always scared me. After that, hair nets were required for those with long hair. Occupational hazard: you worry too much!

I have wondered about farming and their life. Growing up we were surrounded by farms. My mother went to their farms for veggies for canning. When I first saw your show I was hooked. I love looking at all types of engineering and other ways for lively hood. I am 76 and still happy to how things are made. Good luck to you all, including Roman. I am still watching and will continue. Children should be taken to these different places for real education Instead of giving them dumb games. Blessings to all, I'll be watching. 😊

I think it was late 70s where prime farmland was selling for $4,000 an acre, and that was considered a high price at that time. Not sure how many years later, the price dropped to $2,000 an acre. This might've been when Willie Nelson and other performers held the Farm Aid concerts to raise money to help struggling farmers keep their farms.

Re the bin problems... Christalmighty. I don't know how y'all can just sit back & wait & say 'the lawyers are handling it." I'd be livid long before y'all were. I'd also be camping in their living room while everyone's lawyers were running up their hourly tab. Outa sight/ outa mind is not something they would get away with. So much was done wrong and is plain old failing now. My pet peeve initially was no ground compaction test or prep under the bin slabs. Its not like you were building a light weight house so a simple surface slab would carry the weight. The poorly done pit, railings falling off, slabs cracking, all screams incompetence of whomever made the plans up for this fiasco. OK, my rants over. Good luck with the resolution. Hope it is resolved before Coles kids are in High School.

That was my first issue as well-the ground compaction under the bins. And I believe that Cole and/or DC even complained about that to the workers. Then when DC went up to the top and discovered the railings were spot welded. He thought that was temporary (!). I’m sure this will drag on for a minute, but I hope they persevere and win.
