Hi Lucy, I so enjoy your videos. I have a suggestion for this bobbin winder, I have this same one and I put cone or cross wound thread on my single thread stand and from that into the first guide of the winder and follow through the tension etc., It works great. I recently picked up a newer version with the pull up stand built in, I purchased this because it comes with a changeable bobbin spindle so it has the size for my Pfaff special bobbins and it is either battery powered or usb, it works great as well.

I love the idea of a USB powered bobbin winder and will keep an eye out for that model. Last weekend I did something like you mentioned with large cones and a separate thread stand and I agree it works great! I wound over 100 bobbins to provide thread for kits, and I used this bobbin winder with a small thread stand next to it. That way, I could relax and watch TV while quickly winding all that thread. Definitely worth the purchase price. Feel free to share a link to your new bobbin winder in case anybody is interested.

Yes, it definitely works. Had mine for a few years because my sewing machine bobbin winder doesn't work.

I bought this same one at Goodwill and it's o.k but would never have bought it new.

Can you wind a bobbin on a regular sewing machine for your multi needle or is the bobbin a different size?

It depends on you sewing machine. Try it and see. For example - Metal bobbins don't fit my Viking but work fine on my vintage singer.

I have had my “cheap toy” version for over 25 years, and it’s still going strong. It’s not a toy. It really works well

I was tempted to buy one of these my older necchi winds horrible bobbins no matter what I do . Do class 15 bobbins just wind sloppy is that something normal because most class 15 machines I have owned never wound as consist of a bobbin as my class 66 or class 20 bobbins ?

I don't know if class 15 don't wind as well. I'm not familiar enough with bobbin winders. But it could also be something different about the bobbins you have. Some people complain that generic brands don't wind the same. I understand embroidery machines, but winding the PERFECT bobbin is black magic to me. (ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ)

@@BallyhooCreations thanks; when it comes to embroidery I just use pre wound bobbins to keep everything consistent. I was just curious because my class 66 machines appear to wind neater bobbins !

I had one and it was the worst. Always uneven. I just make sure I wind a bunch from my machine now before I start. No worries.

@@BallyhooCreations also if you use the new larger spools of thread it doesn’t work at all anyways..

I used a cone by leaving it on my large cone holder just as I do for my Janome sewing machine. I used the bobbin today and it works fine but you cannot put the cone on the bobbin winder. Have it feed from the cone feeder instead.
