I like that you can use this tool to put a bevel on your piece. Very cool tool!

Great! Nice walkthrough. Except just one thing: the only thing you adjust is the front bed/table part of the plane, to adjust the shaving thickness. The cutter head and rear part of the plane are both fixed, though may be adjustable for correct operation, but not depth control as such. If it's really advanced, you can tilt the beds for curved objects, but saw no sign of that, and would be quite a wow trick on a tool in this class.

Thanks for the feedback brother! Maybe I will try that in the future if I do another video on this tool✊🏼

@@johnnyworks5446 You could look, but usually it's a feature reserved for compass planes and high end jointers like for instance the ones from Otto Martin GmbH. Martin joinery equipment.

I have that plane, it’s great but the dust ports block up quickly especially when the dust bag is fitted! the ports are not big enough, my mate has a makita and it hardly ever blocks up! It had a much bigger port 💪 and we work side by side doing the same thing!

I do not use this too much as I have moved on from a carpenter to a project manager roll but, I thought it would be a good video for newbys to check out.

Would this be a helpful tool for smoothing raw log for small projects like cutting boards?
@johnnyworks5446

Yes. It works better with flat materials rather than a round log. If the log has knots in it then it would not be the best option but for any flatter material that have a bow or are warped then it works great.

You think it would work for joining? If you used the guide at 90°

You can use it as a jointer but it would not do as good a job in my opinion. There would be some trial and error I am sure. You would need a straight edge and pencil to assist and make sure to take the correct amount and it may not be as straight. I think it can still be done on project but would recommend a jointer if you were making a bunch of things.

Squaring up edges would probably be a better expression. For real jointing you'd need larger in- and outfeed beds, unless you're already comfortable doing it with a regular #4. Question is whether it'll take a fine enough shaving to really pull it off. Usually it's used for rougher stuff, like truing up studs etc.

The blade does not come out more when adjusting depth. The blade is at 0 with the rear sole and the front sole is what adjusts to give depth of cut. Not the blade adjusting in depth

The title is misleading. This isn't a Fuel planer. It is a brushed tool.

Sorry @maximusmagni1. I have brushed and brushless tools in my shop. I accidentally called it a M18 Fuel planer which it is not. Good catch!

Yes it is. Most tools are expensive now a days but, if it’s something you need or want I do recommend it as it works really well in my opinion.
