Do you need to read music to play saxophone? The short answer is no. You don't HAVE to read music to play saxophone, but it will be highly beneficial to learn to read music. In this video, I explain a little more about why and offer several tips for learning how to read saxophone sheet music (or rather how to read music in general, tailored to new saxophone players).
