I had a V-Rod for 10 years. I loved it but unfortunately too many of the HD faithful didn't. It was more European than American, which was okay with me, and an engineering marvel and headache at the same time. If you get a chance to ride one, do so. A sheer blast to ride!

Harley messed up with DC Buell and the Vrod. I think they are doomed with less models and prices that are extremely high?

@@tightright7561 The entire motorcycle industry has been plagued by high prices. The young kids used to buy 600cc and up inline 4 crotch rockets but with a ZX-6R 600cc bike costing $11-12k MSRP they've had to settle for the cheaper parallel twin fart machines.

I was a little late to the Vrod party, I didn’t get my first one until early 05. All together I’ve had 6. It’s hard to pick my favorite model, but I have my favorite models in the garage. The 08D, last of the original Nightrods. Then the 13F, the Muscle has the styling of what the power cruiser is supposed to have. At the end of the day, the 08D will be my forever bike because at the end of the day, it has the best qualities of the Vrod in one package. Either way, I’ll be the old man riding the Vrod one day. I should snag up a couple more so that I’ll have a couple parts bikes. Too bad that there’s only a handful of shops that’ll actually work on them.

The Vrod is a great bike . I had a. 2009 VRSCF. I recently picked up a 2005 CVO SE VRSCSE . It’s a real shame how the aftermarket didn’t want anything to do with it . A lot of them are still holding their value though

I have had my vrod for 23 years, that Manual helped me figured out the correct maintenance schedule, trouble shooting, how to fix my it, and share that knowledge with other vrod owners, because the knowledge and expertise within the Harley Davidson techs has been lost, there are places that won’t even work on a 10 year old motorcycle. Fitzgerald motor sports in a good place to find experts on these type of bikes, if you can’t find the part these guys can cnc it for u, but the biggest issue is the electronic replacements. if you plan to keep this bike long term, invest in electronic replacement parts.

Thanks, Doc,exactly what's needed for those senior moments. While here can I ask about the maintenance regimen of radiator coolant apart from its periodic top-up? Does it deteriorate over time, particularly over lengthy storage and if so is there a need to flush and replace it. The marketing ploys sometimes have a conflict of interest as to what might be suggested as the ' right product for you'. Now, where did I put down that allen key? Cheers from sunny Queensland.
