the reason why doc was so popular back then was because there weren't a lot of black coaches like today, and he was literally a hype man for the coaching position

Huh, that's a good point. I have noticed that I cannot think of many great championship caliber black coachs atm except for Lue or Ime Udoka I guess there's a few others, but I personally think those others like Mike Brown, Monty Williams, and Casey are somewhat overrated

He's a decent for regular season games but in playoffs he is a trademark choker. Now with the bucks he isn't even decent anymore. Was doc even decent as a tactician/strategist in his career? I retract my previous statement that he was decent regular season coach

One thing I hate about Doc Rivers is that people think he’s a top coach because he’s one of the only 9 head coaches still active who’ve been the head coach of a championship team. Great that you were a head coach of a champ team, but if you’re him you have to see that you’re embarrassing yourself over and over again. Rip Bucks fans

Yes I agree. Respect him for what he was able to accomplish, but hold him accountable for what he's doing and NOT doing right now!!!! Dismissing him coming up short because he was once that guy isn't doing anyone any favours

Another thing I hate about Doc is people always point towards his regular season success as a reason to put him top 10... I would respect him if he built up those young star players like CP3, Griffin, and Embiid himself, but he didn't, he inherited those stars from other coaches... It's easy to rack up regular season wins when you keep jumping and don't stay for a rebuild. It makes his regular season success look like a result of him chasing stats rather than him actually building something. The post season is where coaches truly shine.

@@ZentrixXentrix Totally agree. If you’re him, you’re essentially setting yourself up for easy success by swooping in when you need to. Imagine if he had been doing all of that the whole time, what kind of team he could have
